I think the results have been deleted from liquipedia (because I saw them inserted there earlier) so to not spoil the english cast (?)

Idk for sure though

Ok. Strange if so. Would expect to be spoiled when checking wiki

I think I'd better just watch the Korean casts... this is going to end up being cast in English during ASL if at all.

93 out of 105 games so far have been played on either Vermeer (45), Retro (31) or Polypoid (17) XD

That's 88,6% of games played on most standard of current maps. Sand Storm was played zero (0) times. Not quite "New Worlds" now, is it?

This tournament had great potential.. but it was, unfortunately, squandered.

Well.. thanks for hosting and casting anyways, I guess. Cheers to everyone involved

Snow vs Ssak was played on new maps only and was really an interesting viewer experience!

Even if it comes out later as long as there are VODs to rewatch it I have marked a couple matches, and matchups on maps, that I definitely am interested in.

The group stage is fixed to use vermeer, polypoid, and retro.
From Ro.16, all maps will be used.

and It's also very natural for players not to use maps that are against them.
You need to change your perspective in watching this tournament.
Don't focus on how many other maps are used
In the stage after Ro.16, I want you will focus on which map players choose among the maps other than Vermeer, Retro, and Polypoid.

That means the competitiveness that maps have.

From my point of view, the initial purpose of this tournament is not to see how many other maps are used, but to see how competitive they are against ASL maps.

For example, based on Bo5, you can watch which maps are most used besides Polypoid, Retro, and Vermeer.
Excluding those maps, you can see which maps players have picked the most from the map pool.
And that means that players like the map, which means that you can see which map is the most competitive among the maps excluding ASL maps.

It really is a damn shame how starcast took the original vision of the tournament and ended up just doing his own thing by excluding zzzero from streaming the English cast and just hogging the content. He told me that nyoken and diggity would be doing the English cast but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
I paid for a really nice graphic package that looked awesome and it wasn’t even used because he decided to change the tournament name at the last second. What a joke, fuck that guy.

Well... when we were planning this tournament, we made some initial promises. You should remember that, also you should remember that I tried to cast myself in English before we made that appointment.
And no one ever told you to spend money on graphics, and the tournament with an English cast is NWSL.
And indeed, Nyoken, Diggity, and Razz are casting this tournament.

Did this finish/was the tournament prize paid out? There doesn't seem to have been any news about this in ages.

thought this was a new tournament, seems that things got lost in translation. Im sorry man you spent some money on the graphics but they were still very impressive none the less.

That wasn't me, but I'm guessing the person who did the graphics probably didn't seem to get paid yet. Same as the winners.

Why do you assume that? I thought the default assumption would be winners are paid already, otherwise we would have heard something from the Koreans.

I think in the end this is just a tournament held by Starcast TV mostly for Korean players, with a promise of an English cast that eventually arrived 3 months late. Looks like there are some big issues among the production team but we don't know the details exactly.

I bought this up because CasterMuse has heard that the winners haven't been paid yet, but I didn't want to outright say that initially just in case it was wrong.

EDIT: I've been in contact with Minerals and he said the whole situation is a mess, but he hasn't run off with the money. I'm not sure what he's going to do but he's probably going to make a post explaining it.

Now that you said this, I had a quick look and SCTV actually made this post a few days ago:
https://bj.afreecatv.com/cruiser0929/post/107441205

So basically what SCTV says is the prize money is from Afreeca and Minerals, but Minerals didn't release his part (for the obvious reason we saw in this thread), so SCTV used their own money to pay the winners. I'm glad that the players are paid, otherwise SCTV would just be blacklisted in the Korean community. However Minerals is and we'll likely never see his maps being used in Korean tournaments. What a mess.
