Im sorry man you spent some money on the graphics but they were still very impressive none the less. That wasn't me, but I'm guessing the person who did the graphics probably didn't seem to get paid yet. Same as the winners. Why do you assume that? I thought the default assumption would be winners are paid already, otherwise we would have heard something from the Koreans. I think in the end this is just a tournament held by Starcast TV mostly for Korean players, with a promise of an English cast that eventually arrived 3 months late. Looks like there are some big issues among the production team but we don't know the details exactly.
There was a nice production plan in place but somebody’s ego got in the way and had to make everything extremely difficult. The graphics dude was paid and the matcherino is waiting for nwsl vod to release the funds… if the name of the tournament wasn’t changed then matcherino would release the funds. We need NWSL vod/brackets to release the funds as per matcherino admins.
Would’ve been great if everything worked out as originally planned but these last minute changes from cruiser made things extremely difficult.

I'm already so tired of this problem. And I don't want to be stressed. So I won't talk about this issue anymore after this post.
Everything will get back to normal. And the prize I paid to the players will be paid to me through matcherino. And Minerals will no longer be active in the Korean scene.

when does the tournament start?

The tournament is finished already. But one dude tried to withhold players deserved prize pool and even edited Liquipedia to remove results because of his butthurt.
|
Absolutely insane that a tournament involving a scumbag who previously stole money from a small foreign tourney would run into trouble with paying out prize money! Color me surprised! Minerals maps are all SO good though, don't hold this against him y'all! I love it when tourney orgs let these maps in and ruin both the player and the viewer experience.

The English casts are being posted on the StarCastTV Youtube channel. I can't wait to see all of the games. Thanks Cruiser for all the hard work!

ugh.. just such a mess.. what a damn shame, honestly... BW scene is too small for this type of bullshit.
just sad stuff -.-

a terrible situation overall

I don't want to put responsibility on others as I'm not a participant in any org mentioned as en example, and certainly it is just a light-hearted comment but it also is based on the fact & truth that teamliquid is a respected bw forum, and people from the bw scene are all together here but I was thinking TL or eSports fund or just a group of mods should create a MEDIation Committee (MEDIC) for preserving peace and building bridges across the amateur sectors of the universe.

Or, Minerals was not acting according to what he initially promised, and due to that StarCast had to make changes to protect the tournament which they did the vast majority of the job organising. Including ending up having to apologise to the Korean community publicly in that Afreeca post somebody linked earlier. Not the first time we've seen here on TL that there's been organisational issues with BW events/community events due to Mr Minerals, but oh well. What's done is done.
The cast being posted now on StarCast YouTube is really good, and there are some great players in this event. Definitely check it out, or the Korean VODs.

A respected bw forum? By whom? By yourself? Yeah, you guys are doing a great job at respected yourself and disrespecting everything else There is basically no "outsider" having any interest for you guys. Has ESL ever shown interest? Are other sponsor coming in?
Of all the companies to use as examples, you picked the one with the worst organizational track record by far. ESL is a joke, now they are propped up by Saudi blood money, but still a joke. TL is known to all foreign top players and a lot of koreans, it s known by ASL casters and some players too. But you re just going to keep and try your pathetic trolls, it s honestly impressive, and equally sad, how much effort you put for our little "unknown and not respected website". But hey you generate traffic and keep making accounts, providing TL with some money, so thanks for that, keep it up ~

My opinion is that the act of withholding the fund is a kind of a dick move. Even if SCTV was totally wrong, withholding the prize only leaves the players hung out to dry, and who knows the potential consequences of that. They may refuse to participate in any community-based events again. Just release the fund and deal with the problem internally.

I wrote the original comment you are trying to pick apart.
Show me a broodwar / esports focused site that has been ongoing for 20 years, covering all scenes worldwide. I'm not trying to push "tl" as a brand here. I'm also not trying to make artificial gate's for keeping.
But just as inven or fomo (naver cafe's later tistory blogs) have been staples in korean language for getting information, same applies for this forum. I'm talking about the BW forum, yes.
Guess where we are discussing this as well? Guess which forum we are all reading and writing about a small co-produced foreigner/korean tourney. Why do you think it shouldn't be, or that it isn't respected?
Not sure what your issue is with TL, me, some posters here etc. But the site being online for 20 years is a fact. The site being a huge network of interested people (passive or active) is a fact. The site hosting a dedicated wiki for Bw (both the game and the scene/esport) is a fact. It generally allows you to follow, discuss, read news, watch events for/with/about/of Broodwar and also could be a place to organise tourneys and announce them!
We might have our separate truth's each to our own but there's only one reality which we share.
Anyway I'm sad to have derailed this thread and got you to comment.

So, first, Minerals is upset that his map didn't win the initial map-making contest vote.
Do you guys remember the Paranoid Android remake that was winning the map contest?
Guess what, due to Minerals influence and propaganda, the map maker of new PA and his map were disqualified. This meant that a map by Minerals ended up winning (what a coincidence).
In that contest, there also was price money which was part from donations, and once again Minerals decided to withhold it because only he "can decide what is best to do with the money".

Edit: nevermind. Can one not delete posts on this website?

Oh, it wasn't exactly like that. He wanted to disqualify me, but he found a better solution: choose me as the winner, but not give me the money.
After crying, he wrote a post saying that he is withdrawing from the competition, and that I am the winner. But he won't give me the money
