After crying, he wrote a post saying that he is withdrawing from the competition, and that I am the winner. But he won't give me the money A link to said post would be nice. But i can tell you how it happened: 1) The contest organizer spent $800 paying players to test his map "sandstorm". He made adjustments to his map based on feedback from the players he hired, so he feels his map is the best map of the competition. 2) The contest organizer sent messages to 1500 people telling them to vote (and did not clarify that they should not vote according to the 1v1 meta). The people who received his message may have felt compelled to vote for the map created by the person who sent them the message. Or they may evaluate Paranoid according to the 1v1 meta and didnt vote for PA. 3) The contest organizer sent his map to different tournaments, so that it becomes known. And he shared VODs of his map being played by korean players. He sent some PMs to people, sharing this VODs. 4) The contest organizer noticed that another map has more votes than his map (despite discounting the latin american votes, or the votes of new accounts, or the votes of people contacted by me, my map was the winner with or without the controversial votes). I even provided a list of the people contacted by me, and proved strangers were voting for my map. 5) The contest organizer withdraws his map from the contest, and starts writing negative things publicly (about me, and saying that no matter how bad is my map, latin american voters will vote for it, and things like that). He also removed the peruvian flag from my map description, because he was sure the peruvian flag was influencing latin american voters to vote for my map, no matter how bad my map was. 6) The contest organizer un-withdraws his map from the contest (as he is the organizer, he can withdraw and un-withdraw as he pleases) and proposes that I should not be awarded the monetary prize. 7) The contest organizer writes me a message telling me to please understand him, saying that he has spent too much money on this contest and to please understand his situation. He never apologized to me. I understand he wanted to recoup a little of that $800 he spent. Or, maybe he spent them thinking it was 100% sure he would win the competition. Surprisingly, when we all gave up the cash prize, the organizer stopped the circus and accepted my map as the winner. 🙄 | ||
