We are currently talking about this issue in the mod forum. We take this issue very seriously, and want to find the best way to serve those who want faster results, and those that don't wish to be spoiled.

ya, imo you shouldn't go to any gaming website if you dont want spoilers

here's an idea.. instead of trolling gaming sites hoping to not have results spoiled... GO WATCH THE GAME

funny idea. tell me how to watch the GSL live since it's on during work hours?

Noone said you have to watch it at work, or did they? You should know the GOMTV website by heart, and also know they dont have spoilers on their vod service. So how about instead of being the TL junkie and immediately go to TL.net (which is hard i know) you go to GOMTV and go through the games first before complaining on TL about spoilers..

Its really bad when you watched the event live, then read an interesting thread (not even an official news piece) that relates to the event you just watched (I'm thinking of the MMA earns more than 100k from tournaments thread atm) and more than half of the posts in the thread are people complaining about spoiling and not about the content. :/

It's about time it happened, to be honest. It always struck me as one of the more bizarre aspects of TL, being the major Starcraft 2 site (at least English language). It's better to inconvenience the 7% than the 86%.

And for that matter, I think the numbers are probably more in the favor of "don't care about spoilers". A thread such as this is likely to attract a larger part of the people who don't want spoilers than the people who do, since they almost certainly have an, on average, stronger opinion on the matter. There are probably a lot of people out there who would want live results on the front page, but don't care about it enough to make a fuss.

I'm not sure why people feel the need to come to TL before watching the series. None of the tournament VODs are hosted on TL. GOM is spoiler free, which makes sense since that is where you must watch the games. TL is not where you watch the games, but rather where you discuss news, results, etc. with others.

I've always found it kind of strange how opposed people are to spoilers on a site like TL. I would agree 100% that it would be a problem if the spoilers were in the VOD titles, but imposing a no spoilers policy on a news/community site doesn't make sense.

Just look at this thread. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=295973&currentpage=All

The spoiler complaining is off the charts. Watch the games before visiting a website devoted to reporting on progaming perhaps?

I come here to express the fact that I do agree with the people saying that you should expect to be spoiled if you come to TL. It's normal, and I encourage TL to change its policy and put big flashy articles about the superb thing that I did/did not watch.

I wish TL changes their policy to be like mainstream sports websites. There should be a big fat headline: MMA holds off DRG's historic comeback to Win GSL Blizzard Cup!

Like BOLD, fat, and catching. There is seriously a minority of people who don't want to get spoiled and I think TL is catering too much for them.

Problem is that people do a million other things on TL like streaming blogging, keeping in touch with people with PM and keeping them informed with other communities. So you are shutting people out from all this if they don't want to have a final spoiled just because someone was to lazy to make an effort to make the post spoiler free or somehow give an warning to at least give people a chance NOT to get spoiled by warning them before showing sensitive content.

You are ignoring that many people want to see news headlines on the frontpage. Without dropping this archaic spoiler policy this is impossible. I want TL to be a major source of ESPORTS news, but with their current spoiler policy only accomplished TL denizens know where to look on the website for news. A site like ESFI world is doing a much better job for ESPORTS news by putting it on the front page with spoilers.

If you don't want to get spoiled, you need to take extra precautions to not be spoiled. But don't expect the rest of the internet to baby sit you through that process. We want to see our news proudly proclaimed for all the internet to see in all its glory.

Way to spoil the outcome for people not wanting to be spoiled but yet reading TL threads about having results spoiled...
(sarcasm aside, I fully agree).

I made it through two NFL seasons while working nights/weekends and the only time I my team's result was spoiled was when they played a very exciting game and someone sent me a text message.

If you really care about seeing the results without knowing the outcome; you make it happen - go straight to the VOD before reading news.

It made more sense to block spoilers in the BW days where this was the only place to get VODs as well as discuss. Now VODs are on the tournament sites themselves, and that is no longer a problem. Klogon is totally wrong about that, and his point is invalid. The spoiler haters are definitely doing more harm than good.

This is the crux of the matter. It is not at all obvious where to get good, updated information about current tournaments for new and potential members of TL. Having to locate a thread that may or may not be properly updated in the tournament forum is not an ideal solution. Personally I quite like to have liquipedia open while following the big events, because I know there will be people who update it continuously and accurately, but that's certainly not something I would expect a random newcomer to know.

TL has been better about this lately, though. Not as much in getting the information front and center, but at least making it fairly accessible.

If I manage to avoid spoilers for something like a UFC fight, or even bigger, something like a Manchester United match, then I can certainly manage to avoid spoilers for a SC2 match. So what if I have to make a conscious decision to stay away from certain sites for the duration; that's a choice I make. Other people shouldn't be inconvenienced by it.

It would be another step towards legitimacy tbh. When I miss a sports game I care about watching, I don't turn on espn, visit their website, use twitter, or read the sports section until I watch it. I ask the people I'm around not to spoil it, and watch the game before I go lurk on some sports website- if you feel the need to do the latter first, you clearly don't care enough about not being spoiled, and are just looking for something to complain about.

Why can`t people go to this forum and discuss the most current news in eSports? Why should we cater to people who are behind and can`t exercise self control or common sense. Are we really supposed to discuss by clicking each others spoiler tags all the time?

Wouldn't me much of a news website if it didn't have the latest news up ASAP.

The worst part about this thread is that we all pretty much agree, as the poll also shows.
