Also, I've seen some posters asking you to cut down the length of cast, and frankly, I disagree. The current length is great and allows for the off-topic banter that results in the funniest portions of the show. (For ex: InControl's "explanation" of Artosis.) The length of the show is perfect. It really feels like they can touch on everything with some wiggle room to goof off and relax and it keeps it really laid back and fun. I wouldn't want all that info crammed into 1 hour. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Keep up the great work guys! *edit: Also the current length is great. Make the episode as long as it needs to be. Also for Day9 1.07 only added support for korean tournaments and a couple bug fixes. 1.08 is the patch he was talking about that changes the cost of the pool and a lot of other stuff. The patch notes are all in a file called patch.txt in the starcraft directory. Also nothing was changed balance wise until 1.04

It's not that they won't talk about things that aren't relevant to e-sports, it's just that it's a small part of the podcast. This is partly due to JP's position (he works for MLG, the top American esports company) and the fact that the panel is made up of serious pro gamers/casters (Day9 was a BW champ, Tyler was the best non-Korean in the world a few years ago, inControl was once the best BW player in Florida.) I know who the panellists are, which is why I assumed with Psy on it was an intentional thing to get someone who is less a name known in e-sports and has more of a mainstream audience (his youtube vids reach more people than the GSL vods do, if you can believe the stats on the gomtv site). I would have thought the point to get someone like that is to have some sort of crossover appeal. I'm not saying I didn't like the podcast, but I've watched every game of the GSL. If I'm someone who listened in because Psy mentioned it on his last youtube video, I doubt the podcast did much to convince me e-sports is something worth bothering with. Which seems like a shame to waste a chance to expand the audience, don't you think? Edit: Ugh, don't want to come off as some random guy telling the casters how to suck eggs. They're doing a great job and making me LOL while listening. I'm just approaching it from the perspective of someone who through watching Day9's casts during the beta of SC2 appreciated it as a game first before getting interested in watching it being played competitively, and though that having Psy on the cast was an opportunity to share that kind of love to his viewers.

Podcasts aren't radio shows. People who don't have time to listen to a two hour show can hit Pause once sixty minutes are up and resume later. This isn't a dramatic presentation that needs to hold viewer attention with proper pacing, it's high level SC2 players talking about the game. If you're interested in listening to 5 minutes of that, it doesn't get any less interesting at the 90 minute mark.

Good episode. I do have some minor constructive criticism though, skype or whatever program you're using tends to spaz out when there's more than one person talking or laughing loudly at the same time and it just tends to sound like an incomprehensible mess. It would be wise to keep that in mind and try not to talk over each other. There was quite a few times where half of someone's sentence was completely lost because someone else started laughing while he was talking. I know JP does his best to make sure that one person talks at once but some of the other guys don't seem to get this and drown each other out a lot. Regarding the length - unless it gets to the point where everyone's repeating the same stuff or it feels like the cast is being padded then I feel that longer is definitely better. Clearly everyone on this cast is easily able to fill the cast with two hours worth of interesting discussions and there's no reason to try and condense it, with the one notable exception of the weird questions at the beginning for Idra and Psy, which seemed kind of unnecessary and awkward - much better to just get new people to spend a couple of minutes introducing themselves.

Personally I would enjoy more questions (Or maybe even a segment!) about theorycrafting or atleast somthing along those lines (As obviously theorycrafting every week could probally get old quite fast)
