Frankly this hurts him more than you. I could talk about why for years, but I am sure everyone can summarize the reasons. Pretty much this. If I was actively working against the guy to sabotage tournament invites, then angryinternetguy would have a point but as it stands, it's my invitational and I can invite whoever I please to take my money or in this case, not. If you want people to give you money it's usually a good idea not to go around insulting them. Yes there are actually consequences to doing things on the internet. So, basically, if someone is asked for their opinion on a tournament you were involved in (in this case the IPL) and says, bluntly perhaps but still honestly, that you're a bad caster they are no longer eligible to participate in tournaments you run yourself? That's fine either way, but it's pretty ridiculous to claim IdrA made it personal by giving his opinion, especially when you not only take every opportunity you get to take cheap shots at either him or his fans on reddit or in your casts and also were the one who turned it into a twitter bitch fight, criticizing both his fans and casting. This is whole thing is a pile of childish bullshit from the pair of you. So basically how NASL hand picked their players? If I run a tournament and put up the money myself and only want to invite people starting with the letter A I can do that because... it's my tournament. Yep, basically. But I did say it's fine, and it is. I was just basically asking for clarification / criticizing the guy before him for the whole "he started it" crap. It's needless, childish drama about one dude and his opinion. Heaven forbid.
I stated it was needless childish drama, by saying I may sound like a four year old, but you are missing the point, its an opinion, yes, but its one that is malicious and has been broadcasted. It is also one that makes people judge TB before even considering things objectively, its called jumping to conclucsions and is bad and is specifically caused by things like this.

I really don't give a flying fuck what you think of him or what he thinks of you and I'm sure there are a lot of other people like me out there, I watch tournaments for entertaining games + casters, the former half you will lose some of by excluding him.
Idra's been showing some pretty shitty games recently, especially in NASL. When he doesn't care, and there's no reason to assume that he would, how entertaining are his games really?

well, if you get on Idra's bad side, there's no way that you won't get called into some kind of arguments with him, whether you want to or not.

Idra fans are really the worst xD When you think one of them is dumb, you'll always find one who tries hard to be even dumber. And this to no end, it's like there is a permanent contest of who will be the most dumb idra fan in universe. If something HURTS ESPORTS, it's the non stop rising level of dumbness if Idra fans. edit : fanboys and not fans :p

I respect that completely, TB. Good luck with your invitationals and other casting.

Corrected that for you.
Fanboys are bad, no matter who or what they happen to be fapping over today. Whether it be athletes, games, teams or anything else (I think TB will attest to this, having to deal with angry fanboys a lot). His fans are fine.

No argument here. I despair at my own fanbois a lot of the time and wouldn't wish them on anyone. Some people define their identities a little too much by the things they enjoy and the people they follow. It's not necessarily healthy.

I like you TB, but why are you so defensive about IdrA saying something bad about you. It is IdrA...do you really expect anything else?

I'm really not sure what people think defensive behaviour is so I can't answer that question. I've always believed in being honest and explaining myself, that's it.

Well from what I read, IdrA said that you "sucked." That should be taken lightly from IdrA because he says almost everyone and everything sucks. Rarely people actually defend themselves in that case because IdrA says it about everyone so no one really cares. It just seems you took it too personally.

I think a lot of people just don't understand there is a big difference between a play-by-play guy and an analysis-color guy. Maybe enough people on TL just don't watch professional sports. Idra cast GSL before with Jason Lee, who knew jack shit about SC2, I'm surprised he didn't complain about him too. TB doesn't need to know a ton about SC2 to do his job well provided he is not solo-casting. I wish people that haven't would just watch a few NFL, NBA, Premier League games even if you don't like those sports just to give you a basis to educate yourself about casting.

he always does when anyone insults him or something it seems on the forums. He should stop especially if its from Idra as he insults like everyone when asked about them its not something to get offended or feel like you have to explain yourself xD.
good inside the game though as usual :D

It's not so much what IdrA says it's what his fans throw at you afterwards that is annoying. IdrA criticising my casting is about as irrelevant as me criticising his play.

It doesn't seem like either party really gives a shit. This means the fans shouldn't either, wouldn't that be nice?

Well from what I read, it seemed you were lashing back out at IdrA too. So it didn't seem like what IdrA said was totally irrelevant to you. His fans can get pretty ridiculous sometimes though haha

The guy is 20 years old, maybe he should grow up? What good does it do to bad mouth a huge contributor to the community? Just say Total Biscuit isn't the style of commentating you enjoy, but you can understand why he has so many fans because he really does have his merits. I didn't enjoy him at first either, but I gave it a chance and he's got one of the best voices for commentating in the community and he genuinely brings a lot of excitement to the games. See there, I didn't just listen to a few words one time and say "he sucks" and never listen again (maturity does wonders), I gave it a chance and found he really is a good commentator. Is he going to analyze everything in-depth, no, but he has his own merits that the best analytical commentators don't.
Anything Idra doesn't enjoy, "sucks", any strategy he doesn't find useful or good, "sucks", the guy sounds like a petulant child. No wonder he can't win anything anymore when the best players are around, he takes ages to adapt and just drags his feet like a 4 year old whenever he doesn't like something. His ego needs to be popped.
|
i think you're looking too much into the word "sucks". IdrA just likes being blunt and obviously doesn't care to explain himself. Look at him v Huk for example. If you read their chat and what he says, it would be easy to assume that he absolutely hates Huk. But he said a few times after all of that MLG stuff that he thinks Huk is a pretty good guy, but he just doesn't like the way he plays. I think he also said he has nothing against him personally.
Another example would be IdrA v Chill drama. In the midst of Chill getting PM spammed by IdrA fans, Chill said that he and IdrA are friends in real life.
this is all a result of people taking the internet too seriously.
