well in fact he played vs Ryung from Tunisia when he was in vacation (so no time to really train I think) with more than 1000ms lag. (he said he had 1,5 sec lag on the chat of the metapolis map).

edit: same as when he defeats MKP from Tunisia

We just havnt seen Stephano yet in any big tournaments, but his début is near.

So if we haven't see Stephano perform how do we know he is THE BOMB?

Haha so if he beats a korean that's likely lagging in the finals of a qualifier that doesn't actually matter that's cool but when he loses cause of it we should disregard the games right? It's almost like online doesn't matter...

Comparing players and tournament results is totally misleading here because it won't help us to determine his skill level at all. And on top of that this is only a thread about his ladder run and nothing else. Grats to dat run Stephano! Gogo at IPL 3.

I think he was referring to players like Huk, Naniwa, Idra, Jinro, etc. that have gone to Korea and managed to win games in Code A/S.

I knew one of the swedes managed to take a game in Code A, but forgot which one. Replace him with Thorzain I guess...

I guess that shows how much I've been keeping up with foreigners in Korea . That's excellent news.

The TL hype-machine never ceases to amaze me. His ladder run is great, no doubt. But to even compare him to the top foreigners when he has zero (none whatsoever) LAN results is getting a bit ahead of yourselves I think.

I see him play, i'm staggered. I call him an absolute top foreigner.

Yes, he has no major lan victory yet but well... Namaa got one and is not considered an absolute top foreigner, Idra got good results and is no longer an absolute top foreigner (at least it does not seem like it). Thorzaine hasn't won a single offline event expect the TSL Finals wich were one match against Naniwa and is considered a top foreigner by about everyone.

Sorry.. Results matter but they just aren't everything.

Btw: He has won some lans in France, he was 3d at Assembly.. Thats hardly "0" Lan results... Just because you have not visited a totally overrated MLG and have not won one of the 2 Dreamhacks EVER FUCKING HELD and were not invited to one of the tons of invitationals, does not mean that you aren't a top player .
I would rather search the blame on the tons of invitationals that are just that, invitationals.

Since when does he have zero LAN results? He came third at Assembly, which included HuK and Nada, by beating Sen and Brat_OK, and he lost Dimaga 2-3. Alright, it's not he's played thousands of them, but he certainly has done well at a LAN before.

I'm not sure if you are serious. Results don't matter. Really? And looking at his TLPD page, he has pretty good stats, but is obviously not unbeatable. Losing tournament sets to elfi, Beastyqt, Dimaga, Nerchio, and so forth.

Yeah, MLG is overrated, regardless of all the top GSL players (MVP, Bomber, CoCa, ...) that are invited as well as the many other solid non-Korean players there (Slush, Naniwa, Huk, ....).

You speak as if beating top koreans online is that easy. Do you think a weak player could really dominate the ladder in such a way and defeat top koreans online?
