EPTIt's a really good alternate universe story, that pretty much takes place in a world where Celestia was defeated by Nightmare Moon. It's really well written, and is definitely one of the best stories i've read in a while.

As I said, I had a mission. Convert two (male)friends of mine while going to an anime-con at my city. So, there we go, to the animecon! The day starts funny, they mention my facebook pony image. I do a bad poker face: "Ah, its a joke between me and this friend that studies with me at uni!" My mind: "Damn, lost the momentum!" At the anime-con, we find this sign being sold for ~5 dollars(R$10,00), where we could write anything and hold it. Kinda like Coyote from the Roadrunner, every he wants to talk to the public. Endless fun until we got bored. During the convention, I find this friend of mine. She is a Pega-sis, although she is more oriented to G1 ponies rather than G4 as she was an avid fan during childhood, but she still loves ponies and the characters just as much - she convinced me to use Big Macintosh as my FBook image, and she uses a Fluttershy image. Right now, she is organizing the Lolita room at the convention(don't dirt your minds: Lolita is completely different from "loli" which is also completely different from "gothic lolita" and from other perverted stuff. It is actually an extremely pure form of fashion, in her words), and while she is busy with those stuff, we trade a few brony-compliments(this room needs to be 'bout 20% cooler, brohoof, and ~yay~) before I go away with my other friends to check on the convention. God that thing is boring. No one made a pony cosplay. NO ONE. There were some nice cosplays there - in special a Sayaman from DBZ and some Darkstalkers stuff. There were some HORRIBLE stuff, like a 180+ lbs GIRL Kyuubi, or my ex-girlfriend as a 160 lbs Cammy(from SFighter)... that was very bad, honestly. God did she become fat after dumping me. Anyways, the place was boring - maybe because it gets boring after two years and nothing new on it. But then it begun. My (girl) friend just had a little sickness and I went to check on her. She seemed to be pretty sick and I decided to stay by her side just to make sure she would get well - fuck, I wouldn't do that to my ex-girlfriend when dating her, who'd say that to a university friend I met this year - yet there I am taking care of her as if she was a little sister. Well, not that it isn't partially true, she is a pega-sis after all. Then she ends up having to throw up due to that sickness, and I stay there loyal as ever(while my other friends are somewhere else, just clueless about how sick she was) and I just stay nearby trying to comfort her. Remember that sign I bought? I decided to draw something. Since my drawing skills sucks and I didn't have a solid plane to work on, I decided to just draw a "get better plz" kitten, at least to make her smile since there was absolutely anything I could do. She saw it and smiled, not just a "aww that's cute" smile, but a "thanks for caring" smile. Not that I know the difference, but I kinda felt it I guess. Either way, she draws much better than I do, and she said "let me draw too!" First she drew another kitten(or puppy?) with much cuter eyes and we laughed at the cuteness of the thing. Then she drew a Fluttershy with a tie! Soo cute. And as an end, she drew a Rarity with a diamond on her forehead! She even told me to say that "she is sorry, but she is really sick and it's hard to draw over your legs" - pff, she fucking drew a pony for TL Bronies, there isn't anything sickier than that. Oh, and the top-left kitten is mine. Either way, she went home right after that thanking me for taking care of her, and that "ponies always make me feel better, thanks bro". Ponies do make a person feel better, don't they? Then it begun, part two of the day. As CHA went home, I found my friends who asked "SO DID YOU HIT HER?" I almost hit THEM in THEIR FACE. The girl is like the childhood friend I never had, the girl that I would hate a lot but defend at all costs. She also has a boyfriend. Either way, after some talking and useless walking through the convention(and even trying to have some guys pay R$1,00 which is about 50 cents for a arm-wrestling match, but people are scared of a 6"4' guy it seems), I notice a girl had a hair very similar to Twilight Sparkle, although it was a completely different character(Stocking Anarchy from Panty&Stocking), I mentioned the fact as "Her hair looks like the hair of a pony." "Dude, you know a lot about ponies huh?" "Whats that about dude, you like it or something?" Me: "You know what? Fuck this. I LOVE My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic. Older MLP shows sucked hard, but I bet that you guys will fucking love it if you watch two to four episodes." "LOL SO GAY" "No it is not, and you know why? BECAUSE IT IS FUCKING GOOD." Then I went on a rant about how the animation is perfect, about how nowadays cartoons sucks, and about how amazing the fan-made content and how a LOT of people like the show, about how it became famous and about how it is HILARIOUS and how they would be telling me "oh this is actually good" after watching a few episodes. ... I swear I spent about 30 to 40 minutes talking only about this ... At one point, one of them said "if you are talking so much about it, man now I'm interested in watching it." "Yeah, maybe I'll give it a try, you know, when I have nothing else to do. Still pretty gay" (don't worry about the "gay" stuff, we kinda say it about 20 times a minute just as a joke between ourselves) I even showed them Luna(DREAM MODE) and they liked it, esp. because it isn't professional work. And Equestria Daily crazy 51M click count also made them go "WTF" at the popularity. "Oh, but 20M were just from August to today" was the icing in the cake. They didn't watch it today, but they will tomorrow probably(one of them has absolutely NOTHING to do until May next year, so yeah). So yeah, got a nice pic for TL and two possibly new bronies. I know that because they are the kind of guys who would like the show - the kind of guys who like School Rumble, Azumanga Daioh, and other slice-of-life series, and the kind of guys who have a special place in their mind for cute stuff. Mission Complete. And GOD I'm tired, it's 2am and they only left home about 20min ago. I need a shower and my bed. Also, I fucking rock at Billiards. Beat them twice. Once one of them actually made a mistake and hit my ball into the hole, so I won. I wonder how would ponies play Billiards? Unicorn-only game? | ||

This is for those of you who love the show and its characters, and generally consider yourselves bronies. Be at home, somewhere quiet, and alone. It will take you about 5 minutes. Also currently finally reading Past Sins and I must say that the hype is so far 100% justified. I like the Lord Of The Rings / Harry Potter -esque feel to it, in terms of addictiveness, style AND quality, plus the millions of cute references to episodes from the show, and everypony staying in character. It truly would deserve its own film. Anypony who hasn't read it yet should start reading it asap! | ||

First of all, there is no racial segregation: while some races do better than others in certain aspects, that's just who they are. While Pegasus can fly and take care of weather, Unicorns use magic and take care of complicated matters, Earth Ponies are more agile and stronger while also knowing all the secrets about Earth itself. And a race won't determine your position in society either: you see Earth Ponies who are great designers, musicians, teachers or simple farmers, as well as Unicorns who are at the high scale in society or live a simple life in a place like Ponyville, as well as Pegasi who are simple workers at the weather station or are extremely popular as the Wonderbolts. Either way, there is no racial segregation: while it is impossible for a mixture of races to be born, there are ponies child of Unicorn/Pegasi, Pegasi/Earth, Unicorn/Earth and there is nothing wrong with it. And they may be "branded to life", but it's not really that much of a deal. For instance, the cutiemark is something that can be left to interpretation, and isn't always exact. Secondly, this is a way to answer the question of "Why am I here?". You get a purpose in life in case you can't find your own. And finally, you are not completely forced to the cutiemark. Take for instace Rarity: She has three diamonds as a cutiemark. You would expect her to become some sort of geologist or miner with a cutiemark oriented to gems. Yet she is a fashion designer capable of creating really strong illusions(See "Art of the Dress"), even though she is supposed to have a connection to gems and minerals. So while the cutiemark is a "brand", you don't have to follow it as a rule, but it can work as a direction in case you are in doubt of who you are. That's why the Celestia Monarchy is the best regime. Celestia knows what she does, and even if you don't understand it, there is a reason! Believe! obey! | ||

I'm not sure what you're getting at with this, its the way things are in Equestria because, well thats the way things are, its a fairy tale world and things are allowed to be the way they are in fairy tale worlds without it being some sinister message behind it, the Alicorns have the ability to control the day and night passage, seems pretty ideal for story purposes for them to be the rulers of Equestria, nothing else to it really. Branded for life is such a bad way of putting it, the ponies discover for themselves what makes them special in their own time which can be different for every pony, nothing is forced onto them if you talk like that you can make anything sound bad. | ||

The Princesses are the only ones capable of manipulating celestial bodies, so it's seen that they're not unnecessarily fatigued by mundane tasks. | ||
