Past Sins (EqD http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/07/story-past-sins.html) Basically one of the better fics out there, and in my humble opinion, the only really good OC story. It's by penstroke who is one of the more established writers, and its a long and gripping tale. + Show Spoiler + Description: On a dark night filled with even darker magics, an insane cult attempts to give Nightmare Moon a body and life of her own, utterly separate from Princess Luna. But, when the spell is interrupted by Celestia, something unexpected is created. Now, an little black alicorn filly named Nyx finds herself living under the care of Twilight Sparkle, only to be haunted by memories and emotions from her past. Is the filly Nightmare Moon reborn or is she simply a doppelganger with a soul and mind of her own? Can Twilight Sparkle protect Nyx from those refuse to see past her dragon eyes and black coat? Or, will Nyx be forced to inherit the sins that may not even be hers and become the greatest evil Equestria has ever known? Allegrezza (EqD http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/08/story-allegrezza.html) I generally avoid shipping like the pest, especially anything with dash in it. Or rarity, because those things turn perverted real quick... But this one is with octavia and vinyl scratch, and it has some funny bits in it. Its incomplete as of yet, but updated often. + Show Spoiler + Description: Octavia is part of a rare breed, a pony that can create beautiful music, despite lacking the horn unicorn musicians love. Her love for music is rivalled only by her love of fine whiskey, but not on the rocks, what kind of charlatan are you? The Vinyl Scratch Tapes I haven't read man fan fics, but this one is defiantly my favorite. I can say I literally fell out of my seat laughing. It's basically this comic in story form: + Show Spoiler + ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/68vhp.jpg) So it's that, but longer, with better writing, and instead of getting blindsided with a bed scene you get blindsided with intermittent daww moments that I didn't think a story this funny could pull off, much less so well. It is technically shipping, but it is as light of shipping as it gets. It is only really present in part 4, and you could interpret the story as having no shipping with the right mindset. If you are super opposed to shipping, then you can at least read part 1 with no shipping at all. And it's written in play format, which I like reading more. and: Bubbles It's short, it's sad, and it's really well written. It not quite as sad as my little filly IMO, but if you think you day has just been too happy, and you need to fix that in 5-10 minutes, this will do it. | ||

This indicative of society's trend towards general demonizing about those with anomie such as yourselves and anyone else who breaks common social conventions. Not only that but I fear its another effect of the propoganda and general fear creation for the "evil pedos". So much so that even people who are NOT such, who watch shows like this, get labelled as pedos by the ignorant masses who don't think. This is an inherent trait of our current world, which makes sense, because there's a firestorm of hate and accusation and pointing fingers and general terror in the air (see the reddit /jailbait controversy). its all well and good to 'hide' existence by simply not wishing to be visible, if not taking any pains to close curtains while watching shows you'er not socially permitted to watch. However remember the poem ".. and then they came for me, and there was noone left to stand up for me, [because I didn't stand up for any of the others who got smacked with the "social justice" bat].". While many people would like to believe it contains no message and is just a detailed account of circumstances in its isolated context, it is actually a commentary on the social phenomenon of slippery slope AND what happens when people don't stand up for what they feel is okay or not okay in life and society. How many people know you watch MLP? How many people have lost friends or family members trust/respect for this? Or do we all somehow manage not to have this part of our lives 'discovered" by people. The problem is, that if its something people have to hide, it becomes "wrong feeling" in not only the person who acts or enjoys this object of controversy, but hiding it means that when discovered it only shores up the negative beliefs that people who are into it somehow have something wrong with them and, as for MLP, in the words of one 31 year old female "a bunch of pedophiles.
