Hello SC2 community, First and foremost I'd like to apologize once again, and clarify in lieu of some of the comments here, that I did apologize last night not only on stream but I also approached a translator who communicated for me to Dragon my apologies and reasoning. First I would like to say that trolling is not a professional way to act, though, it can be fun and in person I do it constantly, on air more rarely, but in both cases, I always do it for a laugh and never to tear anyone down. Last night I had a lapse in judgement, thinking at the time that it would be funny to make comments which were inappropriate. I sincerely apologize for making these comments, and any negative impact it had on Dragon. At the time, I unfortunately did not realize the kind of outrage I was creating. As I'm casting I glance quickly at the chat to look for any audio or video/overlay problems and then get back to the cast. Through these glances I did not appreciate the impact of my comments and thought it to be the usual minority of people who are either trying to stir things up or trolling right back. Bonk who was co-casting tried to warn me as he had his eye on the chat a lot more than I did, however, I did not understand. So instead of clarifying immediately I just kept it going, unbeknownst to me, simply fueling the fire I had no intention of starting. Finally, during a game I saw some comments made by co-casters which made no sense, considering the way I thought this was going and then I took a more than 2 second glance at the chat and started to realize what was happening. I was incredulous at first, truly stunned, I couldn't believe the way this had actually gone and I tried to apologize but it was too late. If you watched the video, you'll notice that I am rather calm about what I'm saying and nonchalant about the comments from chat. I really did not understand how South everything had gone. I hope this clarifies things a bit, though I likely hope in vain. I do want to state that the things I said were from me, and my own mistakes, and that playhem has the best casters I've ever had the privilege to work with, who shouldn't all be painted with this brush. To all those of you who tried to explain and continued to support I sincerely thank you for your efforts though I was in the wrong for ever even trying to make such jokes. edit: forget it, don't want to get involved in this

any mature human can only come to one conclusion: You wasted your time reading this. I know you guys like drama but even if i look close i can not see one. If this goes on, every caster and player will only read from letters, that are signed by there lawyers. edit: looks like the pitchforks won and playthem , katu, dragon and all sc2fans lost.

Sure, he deserves some form of punishment but let the dust settle and please let it not be a knee jerk reaction to a flame-mob. I agree that apology is sufficient, whether you agree with the semantics or not. I think It should be dropped and let Playhem handle Katu the way they see fit.

It certainly is an apology, with insight to the thought process at the time. It shows genuine remorse and regret, not simply for getting in trouble, but for unknowingly and unintentionally offending people. It's pretty clear that the offence was not intentional and was due to lack of understanding of the sensitivity of the subject. Metaphorically, this wasn't a case of a school yard bully poking fun of the handicap kid, it was a newly transferred foreign kid ignorantly pointing out an embarrassing lisp of fellow student. Everyone makes mistakes and those willing to pay for their mistakes deserve a second chance, at least that's my feeling on it.

as for my personal opinions regarding the incident. i feel it's unfair to simply remove Katu for this singular incident. we're asked to forgive dragon for past incidents, but not Katu? if what Playhem says is true and that many factors played a role in his removal, than I'm more understanding. i just hope the community as a whole can learn from this incident. how casters and fans should behave. Katu should be forgiven for this singular mistake and dragon's fans should back down a little. this isn't exactly the best PR for him and he didn't even do anything besides play in an online tournament.

I think this is what happened with Katu, even if it took a while for him to realize it. Reading what he wrote a few posts up, it seems to me that he is not trying to provide excuses (he does unequivocally admit he was wrong, after all), but rather a framework for our understanding. If you understand, you can forgive...or not. But if you are asking for maturity, then the mature thing to do is to accept his apology and let this end here.

An incident took place, the guy responsible was punished. I don't think we want to ruin this guy's career over this.

The chat on twitchTV is nothing to take seriously. Most of the discussion that goes on there will slowly lower your IQ, that's why I either close it or take it with a grain of salt...

Dragon was punished and removed from WeRRa when the cheating incident occured, for ruining the companys brand image they are representing, the same thing is happening with Katu. We can still forgive Katu further down the line, but first he needs to prove that he should be forgiven.

But to be honest now i feel bad for Katu. I am a dragon fan but I think katus career should NOT be ruined because of this, he just went overboard then panicked trying to clean up got his facts wrong etc. Dragon did cheat hes working hard to restore his reputation katu accusing him didnt help. I think katu deserves a second chance 100% just as dragon has his second chance after cheating. If you really dont think katu deserves a second chance then you probably shouldnt think dragon deserves one either. Sorry if typos sending from my phone

The Dragon offer was a great move, which should mitigate most of the damage, but with Katu around I can imagine someone will always have issues prioritizing Playhem over other stuff going on. They shouldn't get rid of him, the guy has contributed so much for Playhem. This will be another thing forgotten in less than a week, its only a hot topic now because of getting responses from them. So more people raise their pitchforks because they see they are getting a response. He apologized multiple times on the stream, as well as posting on here and Reddit. Dragon if he accepts gets a free ride to IPL4.
