you guys need to realize that while its possible to massgame and get to a- through just playing eachother, this does not work with going from a- to a. you need to win more than 50% of your games to even maintain your a- rank and it's not possible for a bunch of foreigners to get a- and then automatically get a just through playing more.

its true.. so true..

actually going from D to A- in 2 or 3 days like Idra did it is much easier ( its still hard yes.. ) than going from B+/A- to solid A in 2 weeks..

Basicaly.. we will see many A-'s in a few days and then things wont change dramatically.. people who give themselves an edge will keep on playing ( ret, whitera, idra ) and try to get 1 or at least into the top 12 and the rest will try to stay in top 48 or better..

+ the fact that suddenly all the A-'s except kors u can play against are TSL guys makes it even harder and even more dangerous to keep on playing with A- because it gives the winner an even huger boost and the loser gets down even quicker..

Eri has a point there..

So i guess top 48 will be mainly A- but then their will be huge dodgefests and only the top 10 ( or even less... probably mondi, ret, idra, kolll, white ra , Sen ) might get close to A or might go above 10.000 and not stay between 9.000 and 10.000.. depending on how much time they have and how hard they try of course

Yeah above A- it will be about dodging. If all TSL A- accounts played each other then for every person getting to A, 8 to 10 will drop back to B+. So for a top 48 of A players you need maybe 400-450 A- players. And of course these A- players know which ones of them will be able to go towards A. So why will they risk playing them? Of course Idra will gladly play any other A- because he knows he needs to win 55% or more to gain points.

There will probably be somewhere between 50 and 100 A- players. So that means between 5 and 10 A players. That also means probably no A+ player. Maybe Idra could do it. He would have a good enough win percentage vs those A players. But they will dodge him probably.

But anyway, there are progamers there and they will take away a lot of points from the top ranks.

you can't really dodge above a- because nobody bad is at a-. if they are "bad" compared to other a-, they fall down to b+ every game they play on a-, so you only get 1 game from them. I know this is what has happened to me this season, I've moved between b+ and a- like 15 times already. getting out of b+ to a- has been pretty easy, stabilizing myself above 9200 is something I have not been able to do. ive also been seeking out A koreans with the best stats possible and maybe if I tried to handpick b+ nonkoreans with 150-130 stats i'd be able to do it, but it's really not easy.

Of course you can dodge. If you have no reason to believe your odds to win are like 60% it's better not to play at all.

Of course this will change when there are more than 48 A- accounts. Then they will need a win or two at A-. So they will need to take risks. If they win 40% at A- then on average after 6 or so tries they will get the 2 wins at A- they need.

If there are 500 people on the ladder in the B ranks that keep mass gaming until the last day then these games create a lot of points for the people at A- to feed on. If people at B level give up when they see everyone being A- after a week, then it will be more difficult to reach A.

you need 1500 points from a- to a
thats 12 straight wins vs other a-, or if you win 60% of your games vs other a- (which is very good - people will have to play either vs other tsl players or vs a- koreans), it's more than 90 games.

thinking a large portion of foreigners are going to play 90 a- games in two weeks is ridiculous, or even 50 if they have a significantly higher win ratio..

I think the minimum will be A-, just because of how late in the season it is... but I also think if you get A- you can probably just stop laddering.

Anyone significantly higher than A- is probably gonna get maybe 5-10 people, or abusers =P

I think when you get 9200 points you are guaranteed top48. You can stop playing that moment.

Drone is completely right, the gap between A- and A is about 20 times as large as that between B+ and A-. I can't possibly imagine any TSL player reaching A without playing all their games vs B+ guys with bad records. The top 48 is just going to be a huge traffic jam between 9000 and 9300 unless people seek out bad record opponents for every game.

Pretty much everyone in top 48 will be A- with maybe 1 or 2 hitting A, and possibly a few B+s. I think most players will get there A- then stop playing.

I think there will be maybe 10 B+'s, guys playing to win the TSL, but end up slipping down out of A-. The fact that there are others like them will lead them to keep at it and38-48 will be filled with die hards just under par.

Then we'll have the majority of the other players. Sitting on A-, taking some tough games off of those B+ players in the TSL, and hoping to not get overtaken.

The true gosu of the foreign scene will obtain an A rank I think.
The guys who are set on placing first.

I think the best bets for those ranks are Idra, Ret, and White-Ra, if they have the time.

I may be 100% wrong in all things, I just think it is going to be a fierce competition.
Anything could happen.

Top 48 could be decided in the last minutes.

I'm with Jeddus on the "who will make it at the end" -part. In my opinion the TSL admins will have to be incredibly strict with the time TSL ladder is closed. Those bottom spots are going to shift ALOT in the last hour(s).

Now There is bound to be B+ players in the top 48. I'm sorry I just don't see 48 A- foreigners :p And even thou I don't know if we will have an A player in the ladder I certainly hope we will see one.

I find myself rooting for IdrA to get the highest rank on the ladder stage. I think that if he really puts his heart and time into it he can get A. But then again I'm a dreamer (and a bit of a romantic too).

nulung is the only semi-foreigner i've seen get to A so far this season (and just barely)... I'd be impressed if we saw even 1 or 2 A's at the end of this. I also think B+ will be the cut-off, regardless of what last season was.
