Reason: PBU or inconsiderate newb. Don't know. Don't care . Thank you! That was the single most offensive post I have seen on TL so far. Was a shame it was replied to though, would have been far better if it was just left to die. Yeah... it was well intentioned but unnecessary. Shit like that should just be nuked and forgotten.
When a post says "nuked" does that mean a mod completely removed it?

yes, usually only for posts that are advertising or especially offensive.

Also used when people who use multi accounts maliciously, like the TI guy.

Well I suppose you could just go through and manually edit someone's posts....

What happens when someone reports a post, then the original poster edits out the offensive part before any mod is able to read the report?

I assume mods can see all edits of any post, so they can go back to see what it was originally.
Or maybe only TL admins can do that, I'm not really sure.

Yeah, I am pretty sure there is a record of edits. It would only make sense. People think they are smarter than the system sometimes.

Ya this was brought up a while ago either in this thread or the ask TL staff anything one, they used to only be able to see 2 edits back but they can see the whole history now.

Hm, I actually missed the Scarlett fanclub thread. Based off of the first few pages, I think I should be just about the happiest person alive right now, as a direct cause of this.

The report comes with a copy of the post, so even if it's edited out, the offensive part is still there in the report ^^

Assuming it was mod-worthy to begin with, would it still be likely to attract a ban/warning? One would like to think they edited because they realized it was a mistake...I'm curious what the approach would be to that.

Sometimes it attracts a ban/warning despite the edit and sometimes it does not. Certainly it makes it less likely that a ban/warning will be given.

I think they would be able to see if it was a mistake, It's unlikely that if it was moderation worthy you would be able to do a simple edit and make it look like an accident.
If they can see timestamps for an edit if it was like 10 seconds after the first post It's probably not going to get a warn or ban unless it's really bad because they never intended for anyone to see the post.

Back in the good old days mods couldn't see more than the most recent edit (i think at least) so if you edited your post multiple times they could only see the last one. But if the report comes with a copy of the original then meh, guess you are screwed :p
The solution must be to not post like shit in the first place

That account was created on 2009-10-22 13:34:21 and had 2977 posts.
Reason: All your posts make me not want to share this site with you but any long ban for a single one of them will look disproportionate so I want to build up some more moderation history so I can eventually perm you. Stop being a dick. What a fantastic ban reason

I am kinda glad i went back and edited my response to that guys post, it was pretty immature of me and i wouldn't be surprised if i got warned for it. but its whatever as long as most people didn't get to see the crap that guy laid on his keyboard!
