That makes a lot of sense, solid argument. Maybe TL has some sort of standards and doesn't want their forum to be a canvas for people who smear shit on toilet walls. Just because a user is not directly malicious or has been around a long time does not make them a quality poster worth keeping around. In fact, being around for a long time and not improving at all is a sign that it's time to part ways - just as Seeker explained. | ||

Mostly saw fluidrone/oppiska in the blogs section and they tended to have helpful and insightful things to say if you can get past the odd phrasing. | ||

You can get away with quite a bit if you know your way around the system so to speak. As for fluidrone, he's been given so many chances and such that it's not surprising that he eventually got permed. While posters are free to post as they like, his posts were so out of the norm and bizzare that I found myself starting to slowly ignore them (read the first bit then skip the rest) after a while because digesting them can be quite difficult. You get bits and pieces when you read his posts at times, but it's so confusing too. Not all posts have to be eloquent, but at least get your point across coherently. Imagine being a new poster and reading some of his posts in a discussion thread. It can be quite the turnoff even if that wasn't his intention. But really, the fact that he'll be warned, temped and permed so many times yet he refused to change his posting habit makes me believes he never intended to reform even slightly and that's fine. But from the TL perspective, he's been given enough chances and sad as it may be, it seems like it was time to part ways. Edit: As for opisska, he's had his quarrels with moderation staff and the way things are run for ages now. This was a hill that he would've been proud to be permed on so he got his wish lol. | ||

Hard to imagine there being new posters, TL doesn't offer anything which would attract them and the moderation which still acts like it's 2011 certainly doesn't help keeping an actual community active either. For the longest time i enjoyed TL more than other places, but this forum and how it was handled destroyed itself in the last few years. So many community figures and bigger posters cannot be bothered anymore to visit this site and the few older ones who still would?
