I found that he's generally a good poster, but tends to be a bit pompous in blogs. He's made me laugh quite a few times, but I could do without that part.
Also, he says he got the report function early. I dunno how he did it, but I'd like to get it somehow as well if I could. I see so many annoying posts, but PM'ing mods manually might get on their nerves if a report is already sent.
But enough about my trials and tribulations. Back to discussing bans.

Yeah, poor old Torte.
I think part of his problem is that he's always reporting folks and/or giving them pointers on how to post. If you're scrutinizing other members' posts, your own posting is going to be under much closer scrutiny. I mean I don't have proof that this is the case, but I know that if I were a mod I would definitely watch frequent-reporters just as much as the posters they report.
Anyway, I still got faith in him. I think his love for TL will give him the motivation he needs to reform and hang around.

I've seen people like Zona have 500 post weeks, but he will LR on two pro-league games at a time in pretty damn good detail so pretty much every post is a quality post. The guy's WPM is probably higher than Jaedong's APM. I don't understand how he can watch a game and describe every major action in detail pretty much right after it happens. Especially in BW games. I'd miss everything while typing my next post. Some of the good BW LR regulars should give lessons to SC2 fans. I've always liked to read BW LR threads from work to get a feel for how the game was live and that's pretty much impossible for GSL right now.

Lol, so basically I was browsing random threads, it's basically impossible to find a thread without Torte posting it, so when I saw it, I saw a big lock. Immediately I checked the automated ban list to see what transpired, and from there I went to this thread knowing there was gonna be a good amount discussion. As much as he loves TL, he reminds me a lot of Fa1nt, without all the balance QQ.
For someone who is the forum reporter police, he sure does get banned a lot as well. As much as the report button is meant to be a way to help team liquid, when I get it I don't see myself using it much because it just makes me feel like a snitch, especially if I go on reporting sprees like Torte does. I see a lot of talk of him going on reporting this and that, he reminds me of those kids in elementary who would always raise their hand to tell on someone >.>

The way I did it - I checked results, recommended game section, and then in LR went through games that got really high recommendation.. True is, the time of LRing is gone in SC2 and the main reason in my opinion is accessibility of streams. Back in the old days it was sometimes very hard to find a working "stream", I remember having installed lot of chinese programs/plugins, but hey, everything for some good BW action, right. Thing is there were many people who wanted to watch but simply couldn't find any way how to, thus they were dependent in live reports. In SC2, there's no such problem, so demand for LR comes only from those people who can't watch mainly due to work. And that's not many in comparison to total number of viewers.
Hand in hand with this goes fact that SC2 gets more viewers than BW. Tasteless says something funny/banelings blow up/Huk makes mothership = instant 5 new pages. LR gets lost in it very easily and so it's both demotivational for someone trying to LR and useless for someone trying to follow LR.
By far the best LR format I've seen lately was a guy in GSL who quoted each of his previous LR posts (with game time) and added a new one so you didn't need to go through 100 pages of balance QQing and still could read how the game went. Too bad I saw him do only like three times.

Err, maybe somethings are better left unspoken, but I'm still curious.
It feels like a knife in the side whenever a forum veteran with 1000k+ posts just gets a big fat "has been banned by X" they should know better, and we lose a valued contributor.
Or maybe not, if someone like Torte gets banned, then there is probably a very good reason for it. I did a quick check of his post history and it didn't make me happy. Some vets probably just are just borderline shitty, and therefore the mods haven't noticed them with the backlight of the idiots who come here thinking this is + Show Spoiler + Then, after 2000 posts, they get some status, and become more noticeable, as they have been here for a while. More attention to bad posting = banned.
