Reason: Registered to key beg Anyone find it odd how he registered 6 months ago yet was banned just now for registering just to beg for a key? You make your first post in the key thread, I assume that was the only purpose of you registering, based on the evidence that 100% of your posts are begging for keys.

adx2infinitum is worse than most. He had 92 posts before this one; was it really so hard to just make 8 harmless posts somewhere before asking? It's not even like he was new or something.

Khang was just banned by GMarshal.

Any idea who this was?
E: Going off the posting style, looks like Lightwip. But all his posts were in Destiny/Root thread.
Wasn't Lightwip's troll ID TheSteveMan?
What if Lightwip was Steven Bonnell aka Destiny?

how do you remember 'posting styles' of people?

I love your ID turdburgler, but goddamn I wish it was spelt properly. [[[[[[[[OCD IN EFFECT]]]]]]]

If someone posts a certain way, like they use the same vernacular, or consistently misspell a specific word, or never capitalize letters but still sound intelligent and authoritative (this is how I know it's IdrA commenting, lol), one can actually tell who the person is based off of that. Granted, it's more impressive to identify PBUs because they're less likely to have long post histories, and thus less comments to derive a "posting style" from.

We're not denying that. We're just curious why someone would make an account here, let it sit for half a year, and THEN beg for a key. Guess they never realized there's a blatant "post count" next to their name that applies to that thread?... It's just odd behavior is all. *shrug*

Always posts in complete sentences, with proper capitalization and punctuation. Also likes to speak with an authoritative, sarcastic, demeaning tone. Blind-Rawr can help fill you in if you need more info on Wippy.

That description sounds suspiciously like me, Sands.
Also, a prophet has emerged in the TL to Cover Dota 2 thread:

Prepare the banhammers and recruit some more mods, the MIR were never as needed as they will be now.

What part of his play do people find so exciting? God, I tried not to watch the finals because I was afraid of jinxing things but I had a stupid sinking feeling the moment I checked this thread. BAH I SAY. This is your opinion. People wonder the same thing about jaedong too I've seen very few people wondering what people like about Jaedong. He's probably the most liked player out of all of them right now. So what is it that makes you like Jaedong? (If you like him). I suppose his control/mechanics. I like both Bisu and Stork more than Jaedong though. I've heard from plenty of people that they like Flash for his ability to use terran powers the way he does, but I really don't like it as a non-terran player. Honestly, the tendency of terrans to just sit with tanks and try to turtle their way through doesn't make me respect them much. I think an S class protoss/zerg is much harder to achieve.

Yeah, we had too many of those terran scumbags representing Korea in 2009 and 2008 already. Wait, those were all zerg and protoss. Edit: though, I'm very happy that ForGG won't get to represent Korea. Terrans are inherently bad to have because of gay turtle mech. Terrans had too many ages of prosperity, they need to go back to mediocrity. Frankly, I'm tired of seeing terrans win everything. The MSL terran count is just too high.
Flash may or may not be the best player, that's an opinion. I certainly don't like him though because I have an innate hate for tanks and turtling. Whether or not he is the best player, being terran is in my opinion easier, as seen by the fact that there's 3. One reason for the abundance of them is probably because terran is easier to make comebacks with. A protoss/zerg comeback is far less likely than a terran one. When Effort made a comeback in that one game against forGG, GGPlay against Iris, Jangbi against Ruby(when he had a few carriers snipe Ruby's last comsat and then he destroyed Ruby's larger army with DT's) and Bisu against Pure/Clam, those were pretty unexpected and required some really impressive play. When Flash won against Jaedong in the WCG or Movie in the OSL(game 1), it really just looked like some tanks(admittedly, BC's too in the game against JD, which IMO should have been killed by ensnare+devourer+DIVINE WINDDD) and mines getting more kills than they really should get, which simply isn't as impressive/difficult as epic defiler control, epic harass, or somehow opening a magical hole with which to rape someone with DT's. Dont get me wrong, Flash is a good player and I see why people would like him. But to me he's boring and I think that to an extent he's riding on the fraudulence of terran.

So no one's voting Toast in the people's ban awards? Come'on guys! Who better than me?

Shoot, Sands. Despite his consistent hate for Flash, his manner of speaking sounds similar to mine. That's...rather frightening. o_o Eh, I pray I never become that negative, haha.

Zerg have had plenty of successful players, including July, Savior(who?) and Jaedong. Imagine if instead of July, it was Kingdom who was almost good enough to beat oov, and Nal_ra was the bonjwa rather than savior. Then Jaedong managed to dethrone this bonjwa and for once the zerg would have a chance to shine, only to find that their star slumps hard, and Bisu is the consistent one who slumps for like 5 seconds after some BS runs. So the only good players end up being Yellow(silver) and inconsistent Jaedong, and after 3 years, it looks like no other star has come about, while free/best etc become consistently ownage players for a long period of time. You would think of Jaedong in the same way. Because honestly, toss never had anyone other than Stork the Silver and Bisu the slumper to represent their race as anything other than inferior. Fanboy attitude is perfectly acceptable IMO. /end rant.

I kinda think Praetorial deserves to win, just for sheer dedication to staying temped.

So, I'm seeing a lot of borderline posts in the TL covering DotA 2 thread. I wonder if the thread will claim any victims. There has already been some serious back and forth bashing of LoL and DotA 2.
|
it will probably claim a few victims, mostly considering the bashing will only get worse. Best to not post when peoples tempers rise

I really don't understand the "Game X community blah blah blah" shit. I mean, let's be realistic. If the majority of the ancient crowd of vets came in as new users today, they'd get permed in under a month. And TL already only really contains a tiny portion of the fan demographic of the games people come here for.
Whether it's BW, SC2, DOTA2 or LoL, the majority of the fans aren't a permanent fixture here. Almost any game's community will contain people up to the standard, and people who aren't. (The possible exception being the CoDpiece of the gaming world )
Why people feel the need to act like this isn't the case... yeah I don't get it.
+ Show Spoiler +Don't get touchy, that was a joke, not hypocrisy. I just couldn't help using the CoDpiece joke.

My point was more that the people who are not up to TL standard that belong to the Dota 2 demographic have not been banned yet. While the starcraft people not up to standard have. Most of them anyway some people arrive late for the party.
All game communitys contain offensive people after all its a competitive environment designed for 16year old boys (great grounds for cultivate a mature attitude).
Me personally cant really get offended if someone like a different game then me, good for them really
