Adding a new game to cover news about should make some people who are interested in that game come and join. Dota 2 is also quite huge so lots of new members isn't to far out there imo

You can already see some new posters in the announcement thread saying that they made their accounts because of this. I think this will definitely grow the site.

His point wasnt bad, its just his wording was absolutely terrible. Imo he more than deserved the 2day ban.

I don't think this ban was explicitly for this guy's views (though that contributes)-- this ban is also for the way he posed them, his adversarial and trolly nature, and perhaps his ban history. You can respectfully disagree while not writing what this guy wrote.

I did this once and only got a warning. His post seems innocent enough. I know rules are rules, but I feel a mere warning would have sufficed for this person....

I think getting a warning was probably the mistake more than the banning. You should get banned if you say "please don't ban me". It's one of the few, outright bannable without warning bans on TL.

Honestly? The warning was enough for me to recognize my error, and to never do that again. I would say the same would be true for this poster. That's why I thought a warning would be enough; they'd learn their lesson and never do it again. For someone literally asking for it (e.g. "le's see how many mods can ban meeee!!1! :D"), then yeah, ban 'em. ._.

I'm cool with this even though I'm a LoL player, but I'm pretty sure every MOBA community is a cesspool of rage and whine, and that is not what TL is meant to be. Thus, let the red letters flow.
I AM a little impressed that there isn't much negativity in the DotA2 announcement thread from starcraft players, and i believe none from lol players (well, I have a little faith in our small lol subforum here not to do that, there aren't that many of us and I think we want to be good so LoL might get the same treatment in the future somewhere.) though I haven't paged through all 40 pages. Thread too fast.

Honestly an sc/sc2 fan or player shouldnt even be bothered in the slightest even if he/she absolutely hates dota games. You can completely avoid the dota forum and all the bad users that the dota communities are so known for wont last on TL anyways. The only thing that TL will gain is good new posters, that happen to be a fan of dota2, but you wont even notice that because youll only see them in other subforums.
