To all the playoffs participants: Congratulations on advancing to the TLCMAT playoffs! The following interviews were conducted in order to HYPE up the playoffs, and so that the TL community can get to know each player better. Hopefully everyone gave detailed and/or interesting answers. People get enough of the KeSPA PR crap as it is So, without further ado, here are the Ro12 winner interviews!
Clubfan
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do
Hi everyone,
I'm Clubfan and have been a member of Liquipedia staff since late 2014, I think. There I'm mostly doing work on templates and SMW, the stuff we use for automated lists of matches, results and achievements. Occasionally, I'm also copy-editing articles for LiquidDota and doing calendar stuff on both TL.net and LD. A few years ago, I managed Liquipedia-based LickyPiddy. In the real world, I'm a 19-year-old German, studying computer science in my second year.
My nickname is basically still the first one I ever made online, it's referring to the local football club 1. FC Nürnberg.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT? Were you surprised at how quickly or slowly you were nominated in?
Given that I had participated in earlier iterations before, I wasn't too shocked when I saw that I was being nominated, but still feel honored a lot! Despite having been a bit inactive recently, being supported by many great people from the Liquipedia Community especially feels amazing.
Out of the Ro48, Ro24, and the Ro12, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult? How come? What was your strategy to defeat that/those opponent(s)?
I think the matches against FO-nTTaX, DARKING and R1CH felt the most intimaditing because each of them has done a LOT for this community and are all pretty well-known throughout TL.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
Obviously, it's a great honor to be in the contest once again. To be honest, I haven't really planned anything at all as I have not even campaigned.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
My only goal was to win at least a single match, so that one has been met already. Now it should be the time to win for all the other guys, they've done a whole lot more than me and actually deserve being in the contest.
Let’s have some fun with this one. Please use this opportunity to shit-talk your Ro8 opponent into oblivion!
Obviously #blamesalle Ü
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I actually don't know, maybe because I like Schnitzel?
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
Pretty sure it's FO-nTTaX. He's been around for quite a while and as far as I know has helped out in almost every part of our community. Oh, also R1CH because he's a freaking wizard.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
I think tehh4ck3r already being eliminated in the first round caught me off-guard the most as he's done a lot for the Dota2 wiki and is now LiquidDota's editor in chief. I'd have him expected to go to the playoffs at least.
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s dick around now. (These are different from last season's questions)
Imagine that instead of through TL’s online voting system, the winner could instead be determined by a "TL's Got Talent" contest. What would your talent be and how would you win this thing?
Not sure if sleeping in and eating a lot counts as talent? Well, I just hope so...
You and the seven others in the TLCMAT playoffs are the only survivors in a global zombie apocalypse. Who is so pathetically weak that they'd be the first to die? Who is so intelligent and powerful that they'd be the last to die? Who has such admirable leadership traits that they'd outlast the zombies and everyone else in the group?
I think either salle or CynicalDeath would die first because of their age
As long as he can find an empty pizzeria with a still working oven, I'm pretty sure he would defend himself and all the pizza as long as humanly possible.
A beloved family member has been kidnapped by a group of pirates. You need to pick two other TLCMAT quarter-finalists to go with you on this rescue mission. Who would you pick and why?
Hmm, probably DARKING as he has been one of the few players who were able to win a map for LickyPiddy and salle, in case I have to blame someone for my family member getting kidnapped.
You have the ability to turn back time. At which point in your life would you turn back to so you can alter the past? What if altering the past meant you never got to participate in TLCMAT Season 4?
To be honest, I'm not sure... Maybe I'd change a lot, maybe nothing at all, I really don't know.
FINAL QUESTION! The Avengers from the Marvel universe call you up to be the new addition to the group. What is your superpower? How would you use this superpower to further your advantage during the TLCMAT Season 4 playoffs?
As I said before, I really like eating Schnitzel. I don't think that it would help me in TLCMAT however.
Thank you for interviewing me, and GL HF to all community members out there!
R1CH
Unfortunately, R1CH never sent me interview answers so there is nothing I can post about him.
EDIT: No interview, so R1CH decided to bring out the big guns...

CynicalDeath
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do
Hi, I'm Gio(rgio) from Italy, I'm thirthy-*couhgs* years old. I'm LP Staff and I work mainly on the sc2 wiki. IRL I work as a tours and visits organizer for a Theatre in Venezia, where I do live. I've always played a lot of different-genre games, especially when I was younger: I started my "RTS life" with the old Dune (no comments on that pls), followed by the C&C saga and then Blizzard came with Warcraft: when at last StarCraft came out I jumped into it and never left it... now I have way less time to play but I still like to do it when I have some spare time (on rare weekends)... My ID, that I have since forever, comes from the two bands I like the most of the musical scene (Cynic and Death), which were two of the very few bands to pioneer non-onanistic-technicality in death metal.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT? Were you surprised at how quickly or slowly you were nominated in?
I felt quite a bit happy, did not expect people to vote for me for this. Discord server made this possible, I think.
Out of the Ro48, Ro24, and the Ro12, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult? How come? What was your strategy to defeat that/those opponent(s)?
Since how it went last year, I had not much expectations for this time so when I saw I was vs Elentos in the Ro48 I thought that I would go out pretty soon... instead... I'm still pretty impressed to have beaten salle in the Ro12, a totally underserved win on my side there, but life is weird isn't it? I adopted no particular tactics tbh...
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
Last year I went out in first round in last place so I thought it would be the same this year. The only difference was that, despite being not very good in socializing, I got into the Discord community and finally met many people I only saw throught their wikis' edits and stuff and I'm pretty happy about that.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
Sincerely I did not give this too much attention when it started (since the aforementioned thought of going out pretty soon) but now that I'm in the Ro8 I'm pretty excited to see where I can finish, even if DARKING is a really though opponent.
Let’s have some fun with this one. Please use this opportunity to shit-talk your Ro8 opponent into oblivion!
DARKING is the sc2 wiki's LATAM boss but, c'mon, he only works on that so why chose him against one that has no specific field? Moreover, you know, he's Mexican, so Trump will ban him soon (TM) from everywhere except North Korea...
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I work pretty hard on the sc2 wiki, both in live editing and in the "behind the scenes", and I'm getting better the more time I spend here so fuel me with your votes!
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
The remaining players are all pretty though but I think FO, salle and DARKING stand among them as the possible contenders for the Finals.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
There are quite a bit of players whose eliminations left me a bit speechless: among the many I'd say vogan, spazer, razarza, swampy and tehh4ck3r that I though could all go deep in the tournament. The one that hit me the most is chapa going out in the RO48 that is something so unfair (even if he is taking a break from LP) that really left me just sad.
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s dick around now. (These are different from last season's questions)
Imagine that instead of through TL’s online voting system, the winner could instead be determined by a "TL's Got Talent" contest. What would your talent be and how would you win this thing?
I'm a really really patient man. Kinda boring, I know...
R1CH would surely be the survivor by just reprogamming the zombie core center with an old Nokia 3310 while customly multitwitching the different POVs on a 1960's TV, so no doubt about that. The last guys to die would probably be FO and salle that would help R1CH towards its final objective dieing in the process. I would probably die first with Kashim (sorry, man), since we would be meat for zombies while higher minds work.
A beloved family member has been kidnapped by a group of pirates. You need to pick two other TLCMAT quarter-finalists to go with you on this rescue mission. Who would you pick and why?
I think I'd bring DARKING, since he's mexican (so always ready for combat) and clubfan that can always find a way around the problems (so maybe we can avoid too much of a bloodbath).
You have the ability to turn back time. At which point in your life would you turn back to so you can alter the past? What if altering the past meant you never got to participate in TLCMAT Season 4?
After more than 30 years on this planet I have quite a bit of moments in my life that I would live differently if I could turn back time but those made me the me I am now so not sure if I'd use that power. If I have to do it because it has to be done I'd go back and try to live with my father the last period of his life in a different way.
FINAL QUESTION! The Avengers from the Marvel universe call you up to be the new addition to the group. What is your superpower? How would you use this superpower to further your advantage during the TLCMAT Season 4 playoffs?
The ability to alter the passing of time on people and objects, both fast forwarding and slowing it down... That would be pretty cool even if idk how much helpful.
DARKING
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do
Hello, I am DARKING. I'm 30 a year old computer programmer from Mexico, and a volunteer staff for Liquipedia. I mostly do edits for the Starcraft 2 wiki, and general edits for tournaments/teams/players from Latin America in several other wikis, notably Copa America for Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone (in addition to Starcraft 2), and more recently filling as much info as I can in the League of Legends alpha wiki about the Latin America North region (aka, my home region). As the more prominent editor from Latin America (and the only staff from the region) it is not uncommon that people and organizations come to me directly to ask from simple questions about the wiki to requesting pages for their tournaments/teams/players, most notably Blizzard Latam as I am the de facto liquipedia guy that they contact for their regional tournaments. Apart from the wiki I also try to help the site's calendar, have been the player manager for Lickypiddy, the Liquipedia team, at one point organized my own ammateur team league in Latin America, and in general try to be the bridge between the English speaking esport world and Latin America.
As for how my nickname came to be, one may notice how DARKING (with all caps) sounds something an angsty teenager would come up with. That's because that is what pretty much happened. I was 12-13 when I first entered the world wide web, and I thought DARKKING sounded cool, then I removed a K because double K looked stupid, and made it all caps because I also use that nicknames for games and back then some console games didn't had lower caps when you input your name. That's how DARKING came to be. I never changed the name because with the years it just stuck, and I never looked it like something shameful like many other things teenagers do then regret years later.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT? Were you surprised at how quickly or slowly you were nominated in?
This year nomination was funny because several people already seconded my nomination without even being nominated in the first place. People just either forget or used their nominations on more important people first, until finally someone had the decency to formally nominate me. They were very "what are you guys doing?" days for me.
Out of the Ro48, Ro24, and the Ro12, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult? How come? What was your strategy to defeat that/those opponent(s)?
The most difficult match was versus Clubfan in the Ro24. I knew he would be a nearly impossible opponent to beat, he's the German juggernaut after all, so I did nothing just to see how much of a difference would be between the two of us and that would give me an idea of how much support I had. Next super hard match was versus FO-nTTaX in the Ro12. I played it to my strength by my one thing no one else left in the TLCMAT have: a connection to the LATAM community. My followers on social media are few, but I know those who have a more robust entourage. Every little vote counts and it seems it worked as I defeated him and advanced 2nd in my group.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
This is my 3rd TLCMAT, and was eager to participate again. During TLCMAT I didn't even knew about it and was eliminated fast. During TLCMAT 3 I tried a more "let's make cool posts about my awesome self", but I think it backfired on me during the second group stage and ended up being eliminated by lichter. For this year I wanted to stream myself playing games as a campaign effort, but then I remembered I have a cardboard PC, so I had to put that aside and do a less in your face campaign (like last year) and trying to work more on the respect I've gained trough the years as a fellow TL and Liquipedia user.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
My original goal was just making it past the Ro24 where I lost last year. I have achieved it and surpassed it by being in the Ro8. Now I want to make it all the way!
Let’s have some fun with this one. Please use this opportunity to shit-talk your Ro8 opponent into oblivion!
Look, I have nothing against CynicalDeath. He's a great fellow and I respect him as a fellow editor. But let's be real, this is TLCMAT! I have many years of experience ahead of him, with a whole region that have my back and the respect of my fellow editors. Plus he's Italian! Have you seen the flag of Italy? It's green, white, and red, which is not bad but, have you seen the Mexican flag? It is also green, white and red! Plus with a fucking eagle eating a fucking snake on top a fucking cactus! The choice is obvious.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I am Mexican, the only Latin American remaining in the tournament. Previous years have been won by an Australian, an European, and an American. I think it would be fitting for the crown to be rotated to the next region this year. También hablo español.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
Clubfan is I think the hardest one out of the 7 remaining. He has already beat me in a previous round, but with smart campaigning I think I can best him this time.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
There has been many upsets this tournament. juicyjames and ChapatiyaqPTSM in the Ro48, Seeker and lichter in the Ro24, and Liquid`Nazgul in the last chance group. I smell there won't be a raise soon for FO and R1CH.
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s dick around now. (These are different from last season's questions)
Imagine that instead of through TL’s online voting system, the winner could instead be determined by a "TL's Got Talent" contest. What would your talent be and how would you win this thing?
Oh man, this one is hard. If this was the case, I would probably lost right away as I cannot sing, play an instrument, dance, draw, nor anything like that. Guess my talent is I have no talent ¯_(ツ)_/¯
R1CH would be the first to go down. He's English and I don't see an Englishman in the 21st century being able to survive long. I would probably be the last one to die. My wits would keep me alive long after I should have perished. Inflicted would be the ultimate winner. He's Australian. Have you ever been to Australia? Drop bears and giant spiders and sewer crocodiles. If Mad Max have taught us something is don't mess with an Australian in a harsh enviroment.
A beloved family member has been kidnapped by a group of pirates. You need to pick two other TLCMAT quarter-finalists to go with you on this rescue mission. Who would you pick and why?
I would pick Inflicted because Australian (see previous answer), and either Clubfan or FO-nTTaX because it is good to have a German in your party.
You have the ability to turn back time. At which point in your life would you turn back to so you can alter the past? What if altering the past meant you never got to participate in TLCMAT Season 4?
Probably around the time I entered college. Can you imagine just briskly walking by when you already master most subjects? Or maybe get a free 2nd degree on your way? Now if you tell me I have to give up TLCMAT, now that's a harder proposition.
FINAL QUESTION! The Avengers from the Marvel universe call you up to be the new addition to the group. What is your superpower? How would you use this superpower to further your advantage during the TLCMAT Season 4 playoffs?
Mind reading. In real life I'm a guy who easily pass unnoticed. Can you imagine being in the background, undisturbed, being feed information just by standing around? I would be a glorious spy. Then the rest of the team can do the heavy lifting, I am support character after all. Does this power help me win TLCMAT? Probably not. Mind reading is harder over the internet, and even if it worked I could only play a smear campaign wich is not honorable to do.
salle
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do
Hi I'm Erik "salle" Saler, I'm the Head of Liquipedia since 2012, which became my fulltime job in 2015 and I moved to the TL headquarters in Utrecht, Netherlands. My nick comes from a simple way of making nicknames in Swedish from my surname (Saler).
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT? Were you surprised at how quickly or slowly you were nominated in?
I'm humbled and thankful that the people in the liquipedia community still like their "proverbial punching bag" enough to nominate me.
Out of the Ro48, Ro24, and the Ro12, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult? How come? What was your strategy to defeat that/those opponent(s)?
Going up against CynicalDeath was the hardest, because I wanted him to win, he is doing a lot of work for the SC2 wiki (currently the contributor with most edits on the wiki.)
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
Last seasons I made lots of promises and stuff, but that doesn't seem to matter so just gonna let the cards fall where they may this time around.
#pizzablog
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
Not really any goals, I would like it if I got furthest of all the people at the TLHQ though (R1CH and FO-nTTaX are still in it.)
Let’s have some fun with this one. Please use this opportunity to shit-talk your Ro8 opponent into oblivion!
Kashim is the Liquipedian left that I know least about, however the few things I do know about him are all good things, and I can't remember him ever blaming me so that alone makes him a good guy in my book.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I'm Swedish so I've got that välfärd and equality on lock.
Even though I'm "old man salle" I'm not as old as CynicalDeath, but IIRC it is because I've been part of Liquipedia the longest out of all the people left, Inflicted and DARKING started in late 2011, so they're the only ones left that was around before I became the head of the wiki, so I can do story time and tell all the younglings about how things were back when I started to edit.
I am the only one with the Colourful Changeling Liquichievements, and tofucake dubbed me the Master of Templates (in 2011, it is not true any more for sure)
I have some of the funniest quotes on our IRC quotes page or on Fuse's user page.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
I think all my competitors are great people, can't say who will win but R1CH and FO-nTTaX have access ot the voting code base and the database... so .... yeah ... just to be clear I'm not saying they're cheating .... but .... yeah ... you know what I'm saying, right?
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
There were a lot of people I thought would have made it further, tolkienfanatic I thought for sure would have been able to get further, he is a beast, but I guess the SC2 community is stronger than I thought.
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s dick around now. (These are different from last season's questions)
Imagine that instead of through TL’s online voting system, the winner could instead be determined by a "TL's Got Talent" contest. What would your talent be and how would you win this thing?
I don't think I have any "talent" that can be shown off in a talent show.
I don't think strength or intelligence will matter too much, most of it will be luck based. But I know from playing Left 4 dead 2 with FO and R1CH that they'd have no problem leaving me behind if I got wounded...
(salle made his own question here because I messed up the numbering and went straight to 13 after 11 and skipped 12. I copy/pasted to everyone but salle was the only one who made his own question 12.)
A six-year-old child asks you if Santa Claus is real…. What do you say?
Since I have a lot of nieces and nephews this has happened a few times and I think my atheism is partly to blame how I answer it which is: "I don't know, what do you think?" it usually leads them to talk about the reasons for believing in Santa and the reasons they don't believe in Santa. To add to this, in Sweden people actually dress up as Santa to deliver the gifts in person on Christmass Eve (which is the day we open the presents as well.)
A beloved family member has been kidnapped by a group of pirates. You need to pick two other TLCMAT quarter-finalists to go with you on this rescue mission. Who would you pick and why?
Inflicted, becase he's a ninja (and we all know that ninjas beats pirates, right?) and then hmmmm ... probably R1CH who could employ his 1337 h4xx0r sk1llz on the pirates.
You have the ability to turn back time. At which point in your life would you turn back to so you can alter the past? What if altering the past meant you never got to participate in TLCMAT Season 4?
I think I said the same thing last year, I don't think I would want to turn back time, this is the happiest I've been in my life and the mistakes and problems of my past have all made me who I am and if I didn't go through all I have I would not be who I am, and I like being me.
FINAL QUESTION! The Avengers from the Marvel universe call you up to be the new addition to the group. What is your superpower? How would you use this superpower to further your advantage during the TLCMAT Season 4 playoffs?
Hmm my superpower would have to be omniscience I guess, otherwise I would be crippled by anxiety of how to use my super power for good.
Kashim
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do
Hi, I'm Kashim from Poland. I'm StarCraft II tournaments organizer and administrator. In real world I finished my study in July. Now I take a rest. My nickname is from the main character in anime Full Metal Panic, in the polish scene a lot of people thinks I'm nigerian because of nigerian politician with same name(they created also meme about it).
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT? Were you surprised at how quickly or slowly you were nominated in?
I'm happy about the nomination. From this place I would like to thank you CynicalDeath who nominated me first. Yes, I'm surprised how I get 4? nomination that fast, so I needed only one!
Out of the Ro48, Ro24, and the Ro12, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult? How come? What was your strategy to defeat that/those opponent(s)?
Every opponent was difficult, so I don't had one opponent I might be afraid of. My strategy hymm I'm one of the Netwars.pl user so they voted for me. THX!!!
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
Yes. It's my first season in TLCMAT. I'm very happy being here. To be honest i heard about TLCMAT when nominating was started so I not follow previous editions.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
My goal? Of course, win!
Let’s have some fun with this one. Please use this opportunity to shit-talk your Ro8 opponent into oblivion!
My opponent in ro8 is salle. Sorry but POLISH POWER will rekt you :D
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I don't know to be honest :D I'm pretty good in tournament administration and polish viewers and players appreciate my work.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
I think FO-nTTaX. He's a Liquipedia God so will be hard fighting against him.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
Seeker. I think he should advance to playoffs. I don't know why he didn't make to the playoffs, it's sad. I blame people who didn't vote for him.
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s dick around now. (These are different from last season's questions)
Imagine that instead of through TL’s online voting system, the winner could instead be determined by a "TL's Got Talent" contest. What would your talent be and how would you win this thing?
Power to move at superhuman speeds. I can vote for me so fast and leave the rivals behind.
FO-nTTaX is the person who will die last, DARKING is the person who will die first (sorry ) and the true leader should be CynicalDeath. I love his work for sc2 liquipedia. He helps a lot when someone has problems and he manages work well.
A beloved family member has been kidnapped by a group of pirates. You need to pick two other TLCMAT quarter-finalists to go with you on this rescue mission. Who would you pick and why?
CynicalDeath and salle. I think they show amazing work and management, ingenuity. So they can help me with this rescue mission!
You have the ability to turn back time. At which point in your life would you turn back to so you can alter the past? What if altering the past meant you never got to participate in TLCMAT Season 4?
I no need turn back time, I'm happy what I doing right now. Second question: I think I would be sad this is great tournament with people voting on you. I can see how people respect others for their work.
FINAL QUESTION! The Avengers from the Marvel universe call you up to be the new addition to the group. What is your superpower? How would you use this superpower to further your advantage during the TLCMAT Season 4 playoffs?
Like q10: Power to move at superhuman speeds. I think this is the super power I need. This is te easiest way to beat my opponents in TLCMAT with high score.
Inflicted

First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do
Hi, I'm Inflicted. I am a trial staff for Liquipedia and mostly follow SC2 and LoL. I also do some TLcalendar stuff and update Aligulac from time to time. I've been a full time uni student for the past few years so I've had a lot time to shitpost in LRs as well. My ID was shameless stolen from someone I met playing MapleStory years ago, and I've used it ever since.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT? Were you surprised at how quickly or slowly you were nominated in?
I got nominated in by mostly Liquipedia members so I'm glad this tournament promotes nepotism.
Out of the Ro48, Ro24, and the Ro12, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult? How come? What was your strategy to defeat that/those opponent(s)?
I didn't expect to beat R1CH at all but I'm glad Seeker rigged the results this way.
I noticed that I got more votes after losing a previous match, so my overall strategy was to have faith in the pity votes carrying me through.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
I think it's nice getting recognised regardless of the results.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
I think I have a 10% chance of winning it all so that means I should be the overwhelming favourite if my INno math adds up. I hope to show good polls so please cheer for me.
Let’s have some fun with this one. Please use this opportunity to shit-talk your Ro8 opponent into oblivion!
...
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
It would be nice having an Australian who isn't a disappointment on the international stage.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
Definitely Kashim. His NetWars fan base is too much.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
How did Ej actually make Ro12? who even voted for him?
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s dick around now. (These are different from last season's questions)
Imagine that instead of through TL’s online voting system, the winner could instead be determined by a "TL's Got Talent" contest. What would your talent be and how would you win this thing?
Definitely playing SC2. If any of the other contestants had any talent in that, they wouldn't be dodging LRTL.
CynicalDeath would be the first to go, not because he's pathetically weak but everyone else can out run those old man legs. The last to die would obviously be the Australian.
A beloved family member has been kidnapped by a group of pirates. You need to pick two other TLCMAT quarter-finalists to go with you on this rescue mission. Who would you pick and why?
FO-nTTaX would be the brains behind the mission and salle would be needed to pick out the colours for the boat we'll use.
You have the ability to turn back time. At which point in your life would you turn back to so you can alter the past? What if altering the past meant you never got to participate in TLCMAT Season 4?
I'd go back to when I was born and opt to become a Korean Terran instead.
FINAL QUESTION! The Avengers from the Marvel universe call you up to be the new addition to the group. What is your superpower? How would you use this superpower to further your advantage during the TLCMAT Season 4 playoffs?
I would just have TL admin powers so I could rig the results like some of the others opponents did.
FO-nTTaX

First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do
Hi, I'm a guy called FO-nTTaX. Esports wise I'm working on Liquipedia, as most people left in this competition, and sometimes I correct peoples spelling of esports. As a real world job, I work on Liquipedia (I'm serious, I maintain the codebase and code fancy new features).
My ID comes from a combination of a real life nickname and my favourite team at the time (aTTaX for the old CS guys here). It's not my first ever ID, but this one has stuck over the years.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT? Were you surprised at how quickly or slowly you were nominated in?
I think I was the first one to be in the tournament, I didn't exactly have time to be surprised. It's nice that Liquipedia people are recognized a bit, although a lot of Liquipedia people nominating has been by other Liquipedia people
Out of the Ro48, Ro24, and the Ro12, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult? How come? What was your strategy to defeat that/those opponent(s)?
It's always hard to go up against Liquipedia people for me, since I reckon that's where most of my votes come from. Especially the Ro12 group was brutal in that regard going up against DARKING.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
Dunno how it feels tbh. I'll bribe the Liquipedia people with cool new features and we'll see how that goes :D
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
Well, I got in second last time around, this time I'm shooting for the number one spot.
Let’s have some fun with this one. Please use this opportunity to shit-talk your Ro8 opponent into oblivion!
What is it with you and your shittalk, Liquipedia people are nice and you shouldn't shit-talk them. I'll commence shittalking the host of this interview instead: Seriously, who still uses "eSports" instead of esports? Get your stuff together, even the AP stylebook agrees:
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
If it was not for me, Liquipedia would still be stuck in the 200s technology wise, so if you like all the new Liquipedia stuff, vote for me!!!!!!one1eleven
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
I'll have to go with DARKING here, he already beat me once in this contest and he is a really string contender having the Latin American fanbase behind himself.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
mizenhauer not making it to the bracket was a surprise. I love his articles and seeing him go out in Ro24 was a bummer.
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s dick around now. (These are different from last season's questions)
Imagine that instead of through TL’s online voting system, the winner could instead be determined by a "TL's Got Talent" contest. What would your talent be and how would you win this thing?
I would hack the system and stop the others from being able to participate... wait, I could ban them already 🤔🤔🤔
You and the seven others in the TLCMAT playoffs are the only survivors in a global zombie apocalypse. Who is so pathetically weak that they'd be the first to die? Who is so intelligent and powerful that they'd be the last to die? Who has such admirable leadership traits that they'd outlast the zombies and everyone else in the group?
salle would be the weak one, we could outrun him and he'd die first. R1CH would be the intelligent one, he'd wizard shit up and would like be floating in the air where the zombies can't reach him or smth, Clubfan would be the leader, he has shown a lot of proactivity on the wikis.
A beloved family member has been kidnapped by a group of pirates. You need to pick two other TLCMAT quarter-finalists to go with you on this rescue mission. Who would you pick and why?
CynicalDeath and DARKING. I am positive that all of these guys would make good companions, but I always wanted to meet these two in particular.
You have the ability to turn back time. At which point in your life would you turn back to so you can alter the past? What if altering the past meant you never got to participate in TLCMAT Season 4?
I don't think going back in time is a good idea.
FINAL QUESTION! The Avengers from the Marvel universe call you up to be the new addition to the group. What is your superpower? How would you use this superpower to further your advantage during the TLCMAT Season 4 playoffs?
I'd be able to read minds. I probably would use it in TLCMAT, it's easier to win if you can predict everyone’s moves.
