There's 57 sign ups already, I really think this should be a 64 person tourny. I say we start it at 12 to fit everything in.

No qualifiers. But RO64 in single elimination shouldn't take that much longer.

Give or give an hour about I guess. Since some people will be waiting for other people to finish.

poke quit your bitching about start times
ever since i let you play that other tourney at cybercraft you've been nothing but a spoiled little brat

yes that event timing was completely off and I realize thats my fault
but there were byes all across the brackets and you even had a bye first round

you should be glad i let you play through with that other tour since you won 50bucks from it
especially since when I did ask you to play your game you refused
Don't worry, I'm a professional

This is how it is, you have a strict schedule lined up. If you don't start in time, means you won't finish in time. If you don't finish in time, too bad (maybe the person who was ready first gets to have that as a bye). We're not waiting around for people.... if we collect as much as I think we will, it will be a big prize pool. If the match goes on longer than expected, then arrangements can be met IF AND ONLY IF IT STARTED ON TIME.

Half hour for the first round, 1 hour allowance for the 2nd round. and so on. Losers bracket happens concurrently, start at 12.

I wrote this quick and without much thought, but i wanted to start discussion on tournament scheduling cause we have such a problem with it.

I find that there are two issues with time management issues with Cybercraft.

1. Starting on time
2. Breaks (Food and Personal)

Starting on time has been a problem for Cybercraft Tournaments because competitors need time to set up their equipment, and some people never show up on time. I believe there needs to be DQs much faster if people are not going to show up on time.

The biggest issue that I find was the amount of breaks that were afforded while streaming the earlier rounds. While you want to stream as many good games as possible, this will cause bigger delays in the tournament; as I recall, I had to wait about an hour before starting my second round match. If both competitors are ready, they should be able to immediately start the next series instead of trying to wait and let the tournament organizers decide what match is going to be casted. Yes, this will hurt in the sense that one might not be able to see better matches, but allows a better flow of the tournament. You can keep this rule until Ro4, where there would only be 3 series to be casted, and it would take about 1.5 hours total.

Lunch breaks certainly do not help with the situation, and although this might be harsh, either there needs to be a strict block of time for lunch and food, or having no lunch break at all. Player breaks should not be more than 5-10 minutes per series.

That is my thought on the time management issues with Cybercraft.
Venture Capital is better off spent on lottery tickets rather than investing in E-Sports; you'll get a far better return. The difference is simple: Koreans are tryharding at the game, foreigners are tryharding in real-life.

youre 100% correct about everything
problem is to fix the issues we have to be a lot stricter about the rules and cant be as lenient
which makes the event more of an official tournament then an actual community LAN

I have no problem being absolutely strict with the rules and dropping people from brackets on the dot but if thats the case i feel its not much of a fun event but rather an actual competitive scene

if thats what the community whats I'm fine with that but for the most part, people there dont take the tournament too seriously, which is y i dont want to rush people to play their games and i dont want to drop people if theyre 5-10min late
Don't worry, I'm a professional

I agree on the lunch break thing. A 30 minute block should be enough for everyone to grab lunch, at least.

Starting on time is another thing. If we start on time and give people byes, and then they wait for their second match, their opponent tends to show up a few minutes later. So do we enforce STRICTLY, which is kind of a pain for people who arrive a few minutes late? Or do we enforce sort leniently because the people who have byes are waiting for games anyways?
