So, basically the question is: How do Mods and Admins know when an account that is newly created is just someone trying to dodge a ban or someone that's been banned before trying to make a new account? They can see the IP address of every post/registration. I wonder if there is more to that because I think I saw some people banned after they changed their address. Maybe they just failed at it...
My questions about post highlighting:
- How soon are you going to apply post highlighting in SC2 strategy forum?
During the last SofG Kennigit said it was going to be in about 1 (or next?) week. Will it be delayed or are you sure this feature will launch this week?
- Will there be a news thread about it or just a sticky in the strat forum?
- Who do you have on the list of highlighted posters so far? Does it include admins, moderators and banlings or Liquipedia staff?
- How is it going to work? Is it going to be an option in the Search or some sort of collapsing feature?
- Can you post a screenshot of a highlighted post ?

How can I evade a ban?

I had pm'ed this to chill earlier but never got a response so this seems like an appropriate place.
from my message to chill: "Hey Chill I've seen you respond to a few of the "any casters who ..............?"
with stuff along the lines of "Yes, of course there are casters who do this, but you should be contactnig them directly instead of posting a "Wanted" add on TL. This isn't craigslist."
I was wonder though if there WAS a chance of some kind of TL Wanted section. As a caster looking to do more events than just my own I would find a section where people/events/tournaments could post about needing help or extra casting, very useful. I know there are a lot of other casters looking to break into the scene and being able to volunteer for events out there would help diversify the field. Contacting casters directly is great but I think this restricts who gets noticed. I know a lot of the "bigger" names in casting are actually casters who already had a name doing something else and have moved to SC2. Some of the big names, native or not, are not very enjoyable or knowledgeable.
If a "wanted" section would bring to much crap, would you consider having some kind of list (like the list of streamers) that would be just for casters (not just players who stream)? Something that would allow casters to advertise/ distinguish themselves?
Thanks for your time

ps. i hope there isn't something along these lines buried in this thread but i did a content search earlier for some of the keywords and didn't see this pop up

The formatting is a little confusing, but that seems like a nice idea. Website feedback would probably be a better place for it though.

Back in SCBW i went by the name Zuan19, but now that sc2 is out that has changed. I was wondering, does TL have a way to change your account name? An example would be gosugamers.net, they allow you to change your name every 2 weeks (something like that) to adjust to clan tags. I've been around for a while and don't want to make a second account just for a name change.

Just wondering about job descriptions, does Hot_Bid and R1CH handle LiquidPoker affairs as well, or just things that are happening on TeamLiquid?

Only TL. Other than having the same owners, the sites are completely separate.

I think it will get better over time, just like every part of TL seems to. Cataclysm probably did more good for that section than anything we could do though.

Chosi, at the TL meetup in Paris, left the party in the hotel lobby to go buy us more beer at an after-hours back alley place. That was pretty unreal since it took him so long I thought I had sent him to his death and would have to have a Fight Club style ceremony.

Btw, will any more insight as to how the TL search engine works be forthcoming?

You will have to wait for R1CH to answer that. All I know is that he has optimized it to light speed.
