Well that sucks. I know I give TL ~100 to 200 page views per day. Someone extrapolate please

Okay, making headway into reading the entirety of this thread. I'm up to page 61 and the most interesting thing so far is how many good posts are made by people who are now mods/banlings. I figure this would be the most visible place to say that you guys are amazing for doing this for so long and seeming to enjoy it all the way. I hope that even if bw slowly dies and sc2 takes over (hope not, need to see Bisu return to glory) you can still maintain the standards of TL.net. Cheers and I'll be posting occasionally of where I'm up to in this thread.

What is the reason for that, if I may ask? You do sell some ad space, so the publicity around "oh TL is soooo big" won't hurt you, wold it?

Unless the stats are worse than people expect

How are people picked to become TL staff? There are applications for writers and translators, but you wouldn't hold sign ups for other positions would you?
Maybe this is something that has changed since the days when TL was smaller or something, dunno.

Maybe this is something that has changed since the days when TL was smaller or something, dunno. Outstanding and notable contributions in whatever it is you do will get you staffed for that if it's a staff thing. For example liquipedia contributors can become liquipedia staff through that root. The transition to moderation is more about being a veteran and familiarity with those who are already staff. I believe I was offered a position as a moderator because I actively read tl and the admins thought I was sufficiently reliable and sane to do a competent job.

Hahahahaha. (I hope this is funny for the reason I think it is)
EDIT: If you could train under one BW/SC2 player/coach in either game on top of an isolated mountain for one year (To become a true gosu), who would it be, and for what game?

Serious Question for TL Staff:
TL has a strong history of standing on principle. There are guidelines and rules set up to ensure the content and quality on this site remains at the highest levels. This is why most of us love TL.net.
So, when I ran across a stream today and read the following I was confused and outraged:
+ Show Spoiler +Description: Currently Streaming: StarCraft II - Starting at Bronze and working my way up! 10:00 once again, Season 3 is out and I lost about 132 games to reach the magical bronze level. Why? 1. Because I enjoy the feeling of progression, even if my own skill is not progressing. 2. I am very rusty and haven't played in awhile. I am obviously not as unrefined as bronze, but this leads me to my third point. 3. My army and unit control is horrendous, while my macro is decent at at least platinum, my army/unit control has lost me many games because of poor control, crisis management and understanding of my own units. So onward we go. I will reach at least high-diamond by sometime in the future. For now, I intend to play all games to the later stages to fully develop large unit forces and diverse ones at that. I did have the intention of learning a new race such as Protoss or Terran, but I wouldn't know where to begin and it would seem like a very difficult task. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=181358¤Current rank: Bronze - rank 5 at 246 points (approx. 140 losses)! __________________________________ Hello, my name is Tortellini (a.k.a Pound Cake or [FOOD]). I am currently streaming StarCraft 2 to improve (Zerg, Masters)! I may also play some Team-League games with fellow members of the CSC, a university club I founded (the Concordia StarCraft Community here in Montreal) and/or NR (The Northern Resistance) established in the Toronto/Montreal areas of Canada. Season 1 - 1 vs. 1 statistic: 3.22k Diamond, Zerg Season 2 - 1 vs. 1 statistic: 1.06k Master's Zerg Always looking for feedback on my gaming and the quality of my stream. Any contributions, ideas or suggestions are appreciated! Please note that I may attempt to commentate (with fellow amateur co-commentators)! If there is a way I can improve my commentating or things I have poorly worded or explained, post here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=181358! I love all forms of constructive feedback!
Basically, this guy has played at a low masters level but has intentionally demoted to bronze every season. I personally would like to see this individual lose his privilege of streaming on TL. I think its disrespectful to the lower league players and very inconsistent with TL standards as I have come to understand them.
My question is: Does TL condone and accept this kind of streaming where a masters player loses games on purpose to stay in bronze?

Kind of a weird question, but I'm trying to make a cheerful for MLG tomorrow, and I want to do the 'dance party' emote that you see a lot in CatZ's/Destiny's stream, and this is the only place I can think of to ask. Anyone mind linking it?

Oh terrific, I'm glad you took my suggestion to bring it up publicly and see what everyone else thinks :3
I'll bring up my stance tomorrow when I'm not so tired~

Do you have an example or screenshot? Where do you see this emoticon? In the JTV chat?

When are the rest of the staff going to force hotbid to stream Amnesia?

He he...
Ho, ho. Aah it hurts, please stop. You're killing me...
It's outrageous. I am outraged! The rage has been outed! No wait, not that last one.
Serious question here, are you really worried that TL's reputation will be forever besmirched by Torte's tanking? There are far worse things to concern you my friend. Can you imagine if TL went around closing streams everytime some-one did something not exactly ethical on them?
Threats? Na ah. Bad language? Off you go. Cheese? well we can't have that.
Torte does a hell of a lot for TL, I am sure that tanking his record is not going to change anyone's view of TL or Torte.
My 2c.
