The rules outlined in the TL ten commandments and on internet forums in general carry over into real life. Next time I hope people remember that as representatives of TL.net and of e-sports in general, it is our duty to conduct ourselves in a respectful and mature manner.

from your post youre looking typically asocial
it wasnt meant to be a movie where we all sit down and watch the screen in quiet, its supposed to be loud and fun and people going crazy when fantasy dropship harasses impeccably, and swears going off when stork gets his 42nd silver medal.
if youre trying to say it wasnt civilized or controlled, well ur just wrong but whatever, clearly the scene wasnt for you. if you enjoy watching the finals in the comfort of your own home instead of with a gathering thats your call, dont call us immature 13 year olds.

had a ton of fun. hopefully norcal players get to play against toronto again some point in the future! ggs all.

You're one of those people who get all up in arms when a woman shows her ankle, aren't you. You get a bunch of college students together late at night in a theatre, with a major event that encourages screaming and yelling... WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN.
Yes, there was swearing. Yes, there was BM. However, if you're attending an event that STARTS AT 1 IN THE MORNING... chances are that you're at the level of maturity, and are old enough to be hearing that kind of language.
I'm not gonna lie. There was swearing from myself, and the two people I was with. There was also a good degree of bad manner from us. I wasn't horribly offended by it, as you were. And yes, even CombatEx was a bit of an ass at times, although that is what made him fucking hilarious!!!!
And while yes, we are a community of TeamLiquid forum dwellers... it does NOT particularly carry forward to real life. We are not with our friends on this forum, nor does real life really expect us to be "on topic" or "correct", or even good mannered. In life, we're expected to act as we want, and do what we want.
So frankly, I think it was the swearing, screaming, yelling, and general "BM" that brought this event together seamlessly, and made it fun for everyone (except apparently yourself and your friends). I apologize for your disapproval of the events atmosphere, but in all fairness, I'm sure if I went to your home for the finals, I'd be somewhat put off by your tense, proper, and uptight attitude towards how GSL Finals should be viewed....
edit: Wow... I think this is my longest post ever.... win

Whoo whoo guys.... PLEASE lay off 9heart
don't, I repeat don't hassle the guy. He has every right to express his opinion.
As the person who did 70% of the speaking, I can only assume that 9hearts comments are largely directed at me.
If you and your friends were offended, that was not my intent. However, while you are disapointed in me, I am actually rather disapointed in you, because your inaction ruined your experience, and gave the need to express your negative feelings to the entire internet.
Please, if you had any issues (and this is to anyone for any issue) please please speak to me or of course choramte or anyone that looks like they are orgainzing and they will direct you to chromate. Tell us what is wrong. And we will 99% fix it.
Did I swear? yes. Did I even think twice about it? No. Had ANYONE at all said to me that it bothered them I would have tailored my speech to the crowd. Had you come to me in private and said that members of the crowd we disturbing you I would have taking action to try to rien them in.
The real world will never and should never be an internet forum. But at the same time, just like in a forum, if you are offended the best option is 100% to infrom the offending party in private first, and only then move on.
edit: typos and grammer, lol still need work too

Did anyone count how many people showed up?

This was my first time coming out to a TL event, and I have to say the atmosphere was fine. It was people having fun. People were getting hype (in fact i'd say not hype enough), in a community event that should encourage people getting excited. Somehow the prospect of 50 people in a theater polite golf clapping like they're watching a polo match does not interest me at all.
EDIT: Shoutouts to Eric and his crew who blazed my friends whenever we went out for a smoke break. And who had the perfect description of the Zerg learning curve.
Die terran scum!

Ok so for next time it's the loon. Also me and Ice S. are working on making a video of the whole thing just give us a few weeks. I'm really glad you guys liked the event.
As galleon said please don't start flaming 9heart. I totally understand how some of the things said without the context of having been to the other events or having came for the whole night could offend. I've sent you a pm 9heart and want you to know how unfortunate it is we weren't able to talk sooner because I know this is all based around misunderstanding. For next time if you guys ever have a problem or suggestion definitely come up and talk to us.

I totally agree, hyomin godtier and myself in December had a pint each at the local and were not please, we spent the next 1-2 hours strolling the streets looking to see what else was around. It being 2 am already we didn't get in anywhere else but the Loon looked promising and ending up being a very nice place. We didn't even get stares from everyone for talking about BO's, Eric about zerg MU's or even me in my Oz jacket.
The Loon is just up the street, if you came from the Dundas West subway station you walked passed it on the way to the Cinema.
ALSO, next time Chill shows up, he needs a proper entrance, none of this sneeking in, we gotta set out the red carpet and make sure he gets a proper shout out.

Totally, it was almost painful to watch a BW finals without seeing some Kpop between games. The one can not be without the other!
And to finish off, props to the guys that grouped with us at the Loon, looking forward to even better debates next time around. Also to anyone that joined us outside between games, was pretty chill.

I disagree.... that 403 pub across the road from the theater was garbage!

Well I've never seen it :D
Did it:
1) have no pitchers 2) no room 3) expensive 4) bad service
Still fun though :D

People are there to have a good time.. As long as the swearing or comments weren't made to someone actually there (besides Combat) and targeting them to make them feel bad where's the harm? Of course if there was constant yelling during a game that would be extremely annoying but that wasn't happening.
Don't bring down the organizers either. Seriously they work hard to bring this to us. And its not like they can control the people in the audience besides asking them to calm down a little on the mic. But that wasnt really called for that night. Thanks a lot Galleon for MCing. You did a great job making the crowd laugh and have a good time.

All of the above, and 5) shitty blues music at intense volume.

Wasn't even good blues lol

I didn't mind the local. We met some nice people and had a decent place to sit with a beer.

It was a great event, but I only managed to get a few pictures. It was really dark in the theater but oh well. Here are the ones that you could actually see: http://hello_z01.imgur.com/toronto_gsl
Probably the best picture that came out is the Slained vs BekHo one. Maybe next time we can have a little more light in the theater for people taking pictures? At least until GSL/OSL is on.

The Loon had plenty of room though. The local was packed full of locals (no pun intended ).
BTW, I had such a fun time and met so many cool peeps. I honestly cant remember many names (lol) but for those of you who can remember me, my name is Eric, plz add me on starcraft tQJaySu.441.
Mario, your casting was excellent, you're truely a natural and I would like to see you involved with more events!
To the crew i was with:Naeb, Asmar, Iggnite, French guy with weed - you guys are mad chill and I'm glad we could sit together. We should definately hit up an internet cafe sometime.
To the smokers outside: Thanks for the conversations yo. It's nice to see not EVERYONE is as anti social as they were at the last gsl.
Oh and obviously THANKS CHROMATE dude you rock. Something like this has needed to happen for 10 years. Finally someone has had the initiative and balls to set something up as extravagant as this. Your contribution to the community is WELL appreciated. It has even spawned events in other countries and I find that pretty amazing. Hopefully more will follow in your footsteps and we can have a multi-GSLparty tournament :D

someone should make a chatroom in game for this event or maybe just for people who live in the area i think it would be a great way for people to get to know eachother in the area/make the events alot more social
