@Decaf: Have you set any goals you are going to reach before April? Like running x distance in y mintues or lifting a certain weight?

We lost today to the reigning midwest champions, something like 31-12. We can beat them which is what really pissed me off. Fuck it maybe we'll see them again at nationals.

Pretty much trying to cover any distance from 10m-100m as fast as humanly possible and just being as explosive as i can.
I think i'm gonna try to pack on as much strength as i can over the next couple months and somewhere around feb start hitting plyometrics/explosive shit/sprints&conditioning.
I found a crossfit near me which i'm gonna check out (75$/month though for 3/week, pretty brutal compared to my gym for 200/year T_T) and send an e-mail to the near by oly lifting club

Don't worry. I think its a lot more important of how and what you do as opposed to how much. Good lifters will be glad to see someone getting into it and others will probably be too concerned with how their bicep pump is going to give a fuck. Plus, you'll have explosive gains and be putting up noticeable weight in no time.

I find at 8-9 (where i think i am now? guesstimating) shit is noticeably loser than me than when i was around 12-14. But nothing a belt probably can't fix. Also depends on your individual build.

decaf, don't pay for crossfit, just do the workouts on your own. the only time you should pay is if you don't have access to stuff like bumper plates...hell, crossfit just makes you mediocre at everything, rather than a specialist in somethings

holy shit, I love my tennis ball!.

I couldn't find a foam roller thingy, so I used a tennis ball instead, even though it hurt a bit at first, it relieved my leg from any kind of pain, and it's fucking awesome!. Imma, do those stretches today and see how it goes .

Yeah that's what I was thinking. My gym doesn't have some of the shit I would need and I can check it out for free though. I definitely wanna see where the oly lifting club lifts though.

You could also use a rolling pin with a small towel wrapped around it just add some duct tape to keep it steady.

If you really want to bring the pain you can get a golf ball or lacrosse ball..... or instead of a foam roller you can use a piece of PVC pipe

I'm fucking pissed.

Took one week off because I was busy doing interviews, and my bench numbers got massacred. I was very close to doing 5x3 (something like 5-5-4) at 195, and today, I was only able to do 4x3 at 185.

I went from 100kg living on the coach, to 70kg running for 1+ hour almost every day. I finished my first half marathon last month, next in spring is going to be my first full marathon, later in the summer of 2011 is my first trail ultra marathon (67km). And in autumn 2011 is a 100k ultra. Motivation is super high right now.

eshlow making me not want to eat any grains. But then i'll starve :-(

Day 1 of "eat more get huge" phase began today. I'm still trying to figure out what i want to use as a routine for the off season. Might try 5/3/1 for deadlifts or go back to using the chart that i'm gonna use for my bench/squat. aopwiefja anyways

Yeah but i want to squat/bench/OHP at least twice a week ^_^ I may do 5/3/1 for eveything later if i stall out on the chart i'm following. I'm just not sure if i wanna DL on it again because its pretty brutal. I had pretty solid gains doing it over the summer though.

Ah, you could try doing it by splitting it like this:

5/3/1 Bench and accessory OHP and squats

5/3/1 OHP and accessory bench and squats

Then you could always try Smolov (for squat) or Coan-Philipi (for deadlift)

It's incredible, I was able to do 3x5 with 80kg without problems, or any noticeable pain.
