I won't exactly say there's a conspiracy...... but its part of making a profit e.g. 'the american way'
But the wheat/corn/etc get subsidies from the govt and they put lots of money back in for lobbyists to get favorable laws for them etc. The same thing occurs with pharmaceutical companies and docs. And lots of other stuff as well. I'm sure you've heard of all the stuff being levied against big pharma.
Read this about how there's a lot of deceit or mischaracterization in nutritional analyses:

Today's workout:

Lowers testosterone among other things like slowing down metabolism = interfering with muscle repair. etc.
A glass of wine helps longevity though, and helps relax if stressed. There are some positive effects but only in VERY moderate amounts (probably not enough to get buzzed off of though).

Just played a game of pickup basketball... I'm dying. Haven't played since high scool, and haven't done any serious cardio (more than a mile jog) since maybe...february? If any of the girls that have asked me to go to the gym with them lately pull through, we'll add cardio to my routine...but as it stands I'm still not packing on weight as fast as I would like top be. I suppose we look at the bright side there and say everything I HAVE g gained appears to be lean. Gotta take the bad with the good when I think about how fast my metabolism runs.

Fucking epic pics. Thanks I'm about to train insane starting this week.

Two weeks without a workout, tried today and same thing, headache the moment I started lifting weights, although not as intense as they were a couple of weeks ago. This is really fucked.. I'm going to get another neck/shoulder/back massage on Thursday and practice my breathing as see how it goes. I also think it might be high blood pressure because a glass of wine causes the veins in my head to pulse, also.. sex = headaches.. fml.
Another week of home remedies and I'm going to get an MRI.

like how much can drinking set recovery back, and why? Travis, here is a pretty good article that talks a bit about this and also about some of the nutritional effects of drinking alcohol. The author is someone who has earned my respect, but I can only speak for myself.

Just spent an hour and a half at the gym. Today I had bench, front squat, and deadlift, but since the squat rack was taken for a while with some guy doing some ... thing .. like a row ... I decided to work in some weighted dips, dumbbell bench presses, and a few curls.
Feeling good right now, although I tried to deadlift 160kg and could only do it twice. I guess pneumonia really took its toll on me. I guess now is as good of a time as any to deload my deadlift too, although I'm only going to be doing it once every other week.
Also, hard question: at what body fat percentage does your waist size stay pretty much the same? My ultimate goal is to maintain an 8-12% bodyfat percentage year round, but I want to get a custom suit tailored to fit me perfectly. If I cut down to 10% or so, would it be reasonable to say that I'll be able to fit in the same suit at 8%, 12%, or even 13-14%?

I have just recently moved to a new apartment and I really like it here. It has everything that I need. A fitness center basically next door and I want to start training correctly and with form
The problem: It's a fitness center full of a bunch really big guys. In comparison to me at least, I'm 175 cm and weigh about 65-70kg. How the hell do I get myself to check in there and go do squats with little weight and not feel like a complete idiot the first few times I fail bench press and nearly kill myself?
Overdose of social anxiety I know, but I want a physical shape form.

They are human too, and they have human insecurities just like you. Really, when I look at a guy doing low weight in the squat rack with good form, I think that he was smart enough to start lifting with a solid plan. Too many jackasses go to the gym and do bicep curls with the same weight, the same rep count, and the same half-assed effort every week. If you hit the gym right and take full advantage of your novice status, they'll shit themselves in four months when you're squatting 130kg x 5.
That's where I find respect for people in the gym. It's not about their size, but about how much effort they put into what they do.

Joining a gym with a bunch of huge guys is the best idea in the world to do when you want to become huge and strong as fuck. After all they had to begin somewhere and often know a whole lot of stuff that they could pass on to you.
Just go, start training and try to learn from them. And don't be afraid to ask them to spot you, it is better to do that then have to ask them after you get stuck.

Concentrate on technique and good form. Once you have those under control, you'll feel very confident lifting any weight, just knowing that rest of people at the gym probably don't know shit about doing lifts the right way.
That's at least how it's at the gym I go to. People bench 3x120kg with their ass high in the air and the bar hardly goes up 10cm. Next, they work their biceps with a barbell, with a weight that's clearly too much. No problem, just swing the whole fucking body while you do it.
If there's one thing I've learned about gym, it's that never learn technique by mimicing random people. They're probably doing it wrong.
Thought I'd share my three months into gym thoughts.
