Push Presses: warmed up and got to 70kg and managed to get a set of 4. Since that was what I did last time I did another one and got 5. Did heavy singles after that, managing 75kg x 1 and 80kg x 1 on the second try.

Was in the gym today benching, and some huge dude comes in, sees me fighting with the weight and jumps over to spot me. As soon as I finish he's all like "dude if you can only do five reps, you shouldn't be using that much weight, blah blah let me spot you blah blah you look like you're going to hurt yourself" and is really being kinda a douche in the way he's saying it. Being as tall as I am, and only having trained on sets of 3x5 or 5x5, I'm proud to say that I'm stronger than I look. So I just agree with the guy, take the advice and the spot. Soon as I finish the bench, we both end up going to do deadlifts. Guy's probably about 6'2, 220. He puts 165 on his barbell to deadlift. I put on 215. He's rounding his back, groaning like a hundred year old staircase, turning red, can't finish his sets. I lock mine out in half the time, best form I've had so far. I finish and start to clear the bar of the weights, so I can move on to my next exercise and he just gives me this one look. I look up from my bar, with the goofiest grin EVER on my face. ![]() Feeling like a boss. Love this program. Am I the only one finding it strange that 220 pound guy is struggling with 165 on the deadlift? But good work phyre, and giving the trollface to someone is the best! ![]() To be fair, he was doing it REALLY wrong. wrong grip, wrong foot position, going slow as shit, in addition to the rounded back. If he had a better idea how to do them, I'm sure he could have been lifting significantly more. But even then, he's a very "traditionally" built college guy, meaning that the entire rest of his workout was about doing four kinds of chest press, six kinds of curls, and two tricep isolations. Then treadmill. The best part of it all is that you didn't take the time to teach him how to do it properly. I'm being 100% serious. There's so many guys who don't deserve to be taught how to properly train because they for whatever reason can't spend 2-3 hours to at least google tips on form and proper training knowledge. I was doing the SS program 4 years ago and your story is so similar to a lot of mine. Wear that troll face proudly man, your post brought a smile to my face.

Not really related, but this brought to mind last night, when I was doing my first deadlift workout for Wendler's 5/3/1 program; you take 90% of your 1rm, set that as your training max, and then work from there. I finished my set with 9x310. A guy next to me was doing about 305 with less-than-great form (funnily, he's in my squadron and I'm the squadron sports officer, so I should have corrected him, but I was in the fuckin' zone). His buddy comes up to him, "woah, that's some heavy weight dude". I resisted pounding off a few egotistical reps of 405. I have nothing to prove to these mere mortals ![]()

Basically, until the 20th of this month, I'm financially fucked due to my recent string of hospital visits. I just paid my last $700 to the hospital, so I literally have no money whatsoever. Would it be detrimental for the bulk of my diet to consist of eggs, oats, and greens for a week? I luckily have enough oats and eggs to last me a while, and I can buy fresh greens and an occasional piece of chicken/salmon using my credit card, but I don't want to screw myself over next month too so I can't exactly go wild at the store. I mean, are there any significant disadvantages to eggs being my only protein?

Just remember not to eat any wheat or grain products with your eggs.... lest you start to develop egg allergies. Not sure if oats qualify for that but if you havent had trouble before it should be OK.

I clearly said in that post that eating wheat products can cause allergies to foods eaten with it. Series of posts on this with studies backing up analysis: http://perfecthealthdiet.com/?cat=57 Also, wheat is implicated in development of autoimmune diseases including stuff like type I diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. If you know anyone with any particular autoimmune you would do them well to get off wheat and they will likely improve significantly. Also, looks like oats are fine so have at it.
