Weightlifting is considered a masculine sport used for muscle growth. Women are told constantly that any amount of size on them is unacceptable. What do you think this is going to result in? The admiration of the few who choose to do weights, not for their muscle strength but for the toning of their ass and legs. FUCK YES.
Hahaha.... +1 IMO.

And if your dad graduated less than 25 years ago, Archbold Gymnasium probably looks exactly the same =(. But it's what I have to work with, and it's CERTAINLY better than anything else I've ever use back home. I'm from a small enough town that there is no local gym; I would have to travel 45 ish minutes away in order to use one... and it's just not worth it.

She skipped todays workout, claiming "sickness". I'm not about to let her keep making excuses like that, but we'll see where things go.

I think it's time for me to deload. I've been stuck on 105 kg squat, 65 kg bench and 115 kg DL for almost two weeks now
And most of my girl friends are just too scared of bulking up too much when they work out in a gym. They don't realise how long it will take to actually get "too much" muscles And every "fitness guru" in Sweden is like "EAT ONE SALAD/DAY AND RUN FOR TWO HOURS!!!!". No curves on a girl makes me a sad panda
Edit: and I'm also stuck on 40 kg press as well. Damn my press is so weak

Picture I took about 2 weeks ago.
I think I need to start bulking a bit. When I took this picture I was weighing around 140 lbs. I think I would like to weigh around 150-155 lbs. Still have some work to do.
Also need moar whey protein.
Lifts have improved quite well for benching/dead lifting/squatting compared to when I first started.
Maxes are currently around 190ish for Bench/210ish for Deadlift/and I never have squatted for max yet... My squat form is really low, like my butt almost touches the ground, so I'm not sure what I could potentially hit if it wasn't as low.
Anyways:
Name/nick Age: 20 || Height: 5'8 (ft/in) || Weight: 140ish lbs Starting Date: 11/2/2010 || Goal Date: 5/9/2011 (Birthday) Weight goals -- 150-155 Training goals -- Heavier weights. Want to be able to break 225 for bench, 240 for Squat, and 240 for Deadlift. Nutrition goals -- Eat healthier OFC. Misc goals -- own at SC2 and do better in school?

lol how much kg in what time span is that?
Was sad because i thought i'd have to study all day...found out test is next week and immediately got back on the hype train. Deadlift 3x5 @ 375 (wtf BEAST MODE, +10 pounds from a week ago) Bench 5x5 @ 225 (FINALLY) and then i had to leave so i supersetted weighted sit ups with chins to fail
Decaf used playoff mode.
ITS SUPER EFFECTIVE

Today's crossfit workout: 10 rounds for max weight of 1 clean and jerk, 5 pullups, 10 pushups, 15 airsquats I ended up doing the last round with 90 kg. clean and jerk which felt awesome considering I've only practiced the C&J less than 10 times

In my opinion you need to go for some serious long term bulking. Don't be afraid of losing those hawt abz in favor of getting a whole lot better lifts.
Today's workout:
Decided to add some volume for back, taking it 5x5 style since it is working wonders for my bench.
Pullups: BW+5kg x 5 x 5 BB Row: 80kg x 5 x 5 (Strict form) Pulldowns: 13pl x 8 and 16pl x 8 (+1 rep) DB Row: 45kg x 8 (+2,5 kg)
Another day, another PR!

No workout since Sunday. Went for a massage last night to see if I could clear some of the tension from my neck, and hope the headaches go away, I'll give it a couple more days before trying to workout.
You listen to trained professionals give advice and sometimes you wonder what they are thinking. He was telling me I have too much tension through my shoulders and chest, more than likely due to an imbalance between my back and chest as I spend too much time on my chest and not enough on my back, I'm sitting there staring at him thinking "I have an injured rotator cuff, I'll do chest and shoulders once a week at like 70% effort.."
and he said I need to stretch for longer as exercises such as.. and I'm not making this up, pull ups put a lot of tension on the upper chest and cause injury.. fuck me.. No wonder I maintain such a big chest without working it, it's all those pull ups!
He also told me that warm up sets are not stretches and I need to stretch more.

Pullups = big chest, that's just basic stuff.

I disagree. I think it's partially cultural and mostly hormonal. There's always the fear of getting big/bulky/manly from lifting weights, but this cannot be the sole reason why it's so rare to see women training with barbells. Certainly there are individual women who can do it, but a majority of them just don't have the drive/instinct necessary to have any desire to lift weights properly. A majority of men don't either, but a smaller majority. It takes a certain mentality to get under the bar and perform a true 3rm/5rm/whatever rm set of properly done squats and most people just don't have the toughness to do it on a consistent basis. Having, on average, less testosterone makes it even less likely an individual can do this.
We give athletes testosterone so they can train harder, have more drive and desire to train, prevent injury, and fuel recovery. It should reasonably follow then that since men have more testosterone, on average they have more desire to train and to train harder.

@ energies: ROFL @ snixsnipe: You should be aiming to deadlift/squat WAY more than your bench + 20 pounds. My bench is almost 1.5 my bw while squat/dl are both easily above 2x

Yeah...I can't even imagine a girl being anywhere near the same mindset as me when i put 400 pounds on a bar where its just raw testosterone and adrenaline taking over my body and rocking out the reps
