To be fair, 40% last hit rate is better than most snipers last hit rate that I play with.

Mid lane Zoos vs a Mag. I obliterate him on last hits and denies. He lucks out on 3 runes: Regen, haste and, you guessed it, more Regen. No one bothered to upgrade the courier, bottle-crow was slow as hell. Naturally he pulls off nice ganks off those runes. Guess who the team started to blame.

From what I know LoL competetive mode is basically the serious mode which carries a persons actual rank or mmr. This is the mode where people are expected to know things about the game and to play to win as much as possible otherwise you can get punished. Alongside this is the causual mode or whatever you want to call it where you can do funky stuff without losing your mmr rating and being punished.
Anyway, back to Dota 2. Keeping with the recent theme that I've had, I decide to random at the beginning of the game and end up with Phantom Assassin. "Great!" I foolishly think as I allow my naivity to take hold of me. "I play well with this hero usually and the extra starting gold will help in lane". Unfortunatly for me, dark forces were at work within each and every other person in my team. Seeing a Phantom Assassin picked makes one of my team members contemplate which hero to play for a few seconds before deciding to choose the greatest hero of them all, Phantom Lancer. I'm suddenly more nervous, "Could the rest of the team follow his lead and pick heroes that have no early game presence and require farm to be effective?".
The next pick is Drow Ranger of course after a few more seconds of waiting. Three carries, two of them needing a huge amount of farm before they become relevant. We're off to a great start. Two picks to go, and these two last players must be noticeably worried by now. They must feel like picking a support character or at least something with some good early and mid game presence who can help in teamfights. Wait, no, this is Dota 2! We need more carries. Gondor is the next pick and I'm already beginning to dread this game. To be fair the the final guy he couldn't make it much worse, and at least he picked Invoker so that we have a good mid hero and a guy who can do something before the twenty minute mark.
Game starts, courier is bought by someone. At least they have the courtesy to do that. Then Drow takes mid, gondor tags along with me and Invoker is forced onto the hard lane. Brilliant. Understandably we were raped horrifically in the laning phase because we had less lane presence than a fetus with a nail through it's head. Mid-game was just as bad with us having no teamfight abilities and the only thing invoker used was forged spirits, cold snap and the occassional (if we were lucky) deafening blast. Drow often missed her silence and most of the time if we actually committed to a fight with our plethora of squishy agility carries the enemy earthshaker would merely sneeze out his stuns along with the Choas Knight while Axe called us and anhilated us (Fortunatly he too was bad at landing abilities so that was less of a factor).
I just don't understand how people can pick so horribly when we already have a few heroes picked. It's like people say to themselves "Fuck this, I'm picking a carry no matter what" just before the game starts. I wish I could have rerolled too but when the last two guys only just choose once the game has begun there's not much you can do. Your team will play badly, you'll play badly and the enemy will laugh at you as you proceed to lose every single engagement.

Those AM pickers suffer from the i can't farm for shit down syndrome so badly. We had basicly 4 lane bot, with me as jungling Seer and Pudge who camped there quite a lot. AM takes those kills (4 or 5 kills, few assists), have well more or less free farm. Battle fury comes at 20 mins (slightly worried at that point), 31 mins in game still battle fury and instead of being 5-1 like he was he is now 5-4 (Lets randomly blink into face of drow and die, repeat 3 times). finishes game at 9-11, having Manta and BF at 50 mins in game. The moment we stopped feeding him kills and he had to think for himself how to get farm and stuff it didn;t went to well. I actually feel sorry for Pudge i played with, couse he had really good freaking game, but wasn't enough with this mongolid as our hard carry.

Played as sniper... went up against a storm mid (somehow dominated the lane). Pull off 2 double kill ganks with haste runes and manage to kill this horrible storm twice in lane... 20 mins in 5-1-1 with ~85 lhs and 35 DENIES. Long story short we just end up demolishing the enemy team the whole game and I end up 9-2-13 with a pretty stacked inventory. As we kill their throne the venge on our team who wasn't bad but didn't really do much except for ksing with missile starts talking about how his back hurts from carrying our team. I thought he was joking, turns out he was in a 3 man pre-made who all start praising him for winning the game for them. Enemy team says something along the lines of: "Sniper and beastmaster are the only ones that carried". To which the premade completely denies and starts saying how mediocre I was and pointing things out like: "He didn't get lothars (lol?), he maxed shrapnel first (rofl?), etc etc". Went on until we actually throned them.
I really don't care about showing off and I don't really mind when people who didn't do much try to pass themselves off as being the star of the team. But when someone completely denies that someone played better than them and tries so desperately to find "flaws" in the other person's play style so that they can feel better... it's infinitely frustrating. Especially when 2 other morons stick up for him despite pretty much everyone telling them they're wrong. There's not even really a point to me writing this... I guess I'm just super annoyed that people like this exist. People that can't ever accept the fact that MAYBE someone was/is better than them.

I've been having the worst luck in CM if I don't go in as a 5 stack. If I go in solo or as a 2-3 stack, the captain will pick without saying anything, ban randomly, and last pick the hero he wants, usually a jungle doom, shadow demon, or pudge. Going in as 4 is the worst, as that gives us hope. Hope that the 5th guy isn't captain or that he isn't the most incompetent player that we've played with to date. The 5th guy more often that not gets the captain spot, which is a disappointment but not necessarily a bad thing. If his first bans show that he has a semblance of intelligence and the current meta, we're excited. If he speaks to us, even better. But then, he fucks up. It's inevitable. He doesn't pick a carry or strong push to end early; he doesn't pick counterpush after they get furion, lesh, and rhasta; he doesn't get any supports.
If I end up getting captain, the 5th guy only wants to play one hero. Sometimes I'll indulge and pick a team around that. If the hero he plays is a support, there will be no wards, sometimes no courier since invoker is a support and should have bought it. There will be constant QQ about how kunkka isn't a carry, or they have no money for wards because they NEED blink dagger asap. Then they blink into a fight and die instantly. If they play carry, they miss last hits all game, get a 15-20 min midas, have a MoM and boots at 32 mins and say "don't worry, I got my item, we win now." They chrono our entire team and have no attack speed to kill the one enemy support that got trapped inside. They don't get bkb cuz "this isn't a pro match, jeez, dude."
Never go into CM with only 4 people, your blood pressure will rise to unhealthy levels.

You can get Boots and 3 branches (used to be 2, but price reduction happened) if and only if you play Clinkz and state "SOLO MID OR I FEED" (yes, in caps).
