Yeah, I have had the opposite as well. One guy had every pair of boots this one time.

Okay I think it's my time to flame on russians for the first time. I think I have played with the biggest cliché DotA-russian in history. Short story of this:
I was playing Tiny, havgin some serious fps-after pause issues, which restarting wouldn't solve. We were doing fairly well, despite playing 4v5, because our dear russian Clinkz refused to play, because our DS took his easy camp once. Note: Clinkz was around dire creepspot, while DS was already taking it down. Flame began from that point onward from Clinkz. Despite all that, we were sitll ahead, and even get 2 sets of barracks. As we can't get to the throne, we decide to go for megacreeps. The 4 of us whipe against their 5 carry lineup. Well we're still 2 rax ahead you think? WRONG! Our Clinkz in the meantime purchased a DR, ran into the enemy team, while not even trying to backdoor rax, NO he wanted to kill their Luna, who had BKB, Manta, Satanic & Bfly with his stupid Orchid. He proceeds to die and the enemies get the DR and proceed to rush throne and win.
I am so sad right now.

I am so sad right now. Some corrections, it was just a 3 carry lineup, and I don't think Luna ever got her butterfly. I did not see us winning that game however, a memorable experience for sure.

Don't think i had single good game since event/holidays began, solo queqe gives me just headaches those days.

Why cant they just make a good matchmaking system? The bigger, overarching problem is that no matter how good or bad you play you'll end up with a 50% winrate. How fun is that?
The other problem, for me, is that I'm almost always (80-90%) the best player in my team. Sure, dunning-kruger and all that, but I have the stats to back it up. I always outfarm our 1st and 2nd positions even though I'm really not trying. I die the least amount of times, and am the only one with a strategic grasp of the game (hey guys, maybe we shouldn't siege their base 20 minutes in, hey maybe we should buy tps and defend towers...). Why is this?
Just a few days ago I met a 4-stack in very high, getting teamed up with people that have 25 games played...
Shitty, shitty system. Why not put people in brackets and randomize opponents/teammates from the same bracket? If you do well, you get promoted to the next bracket. Problems solved.

Just finished playing my first game of the day and a Lycan on my team tried to give wards to his wolves, Ogre Magi + Mirana fed a double kill to a solo Weaver in the safe lane and Windrunner got first blooded in mid lane against a Pudge. I'm done with this game for today.

even the mmr system in hon is much better. 2000mmr players wont get matched with 1600 noob/smurfs in 99% of the games. seriously makes no sense from playing a first page game with pro gamers to a shit game with super scrub idiots.

Only semi-QQ here:
I really want to get to higher brackets so I can actually start to learn how to play the game.
I don't mind playing with bad players because I don't get that mad at people when they make mistakes (big surprise, I make mistakes too) but getting away with a triple kill when 3 heroes dive for me when I play Luna or going 14-0-something on Windrunner just make me think "that's not how it's supposed to go".
Also people expecting me to be in every fight when I play Anti-Mage and then not giving half a fuck about whether I'm in fights or not when I play Luna just make me wonder what they are thinking. I get more flak for being out of fights when I play almost any other carry than Luna. Shouldn't that be the other way around as Luna has a pretty decent teamfight presence even without massive items (hence the random double or triple kills I get from time to time when people dive for me)?
Maybe I'm not good enough which is probably true as I can't play supports for shit (or anything really). I just feel like I'm getting a really twisted picture on how the games are supposed to go.
Maybe-QQ. I might want to get completely stomped so I can actually learn how this game works.
Also apparently an almost-free-farm 4 carry team, that had a pretty ridiculous advantage considering the lineups, can lose to a maybe-decently-farmed PA + a bunch of other heroes(mostly supports though) at the 50 minute mark.

lol
50% winrate for everyone means that mm system IS good
there have been a trillion posts about this and it's always the same
i guess everyone is just the best on their team and its always everyone else's fault when they lose
HON's MMR system is meh, Dota's places you much more quickly. I'm in the "very high bracket" after like 5-6 games of Dota 2, the lower end obviously, but still. If you're so high ranked and you got matched with people who had 25 wins then that means they stomped all their games up to there. While there may occasionally be flukes caused by long wait times that result in mismatched pairings, most of the time if you're playing with someone then you two have similar ratings.

Unless you play with like a 3 or 4 stack. Shit is so hit and miss with that. It's like either you get pubs who are fucking godawful compared to the players on your stack, or you get pubs who are fucking godly compared to you guys. So rare to get a more or less evenly skilled pubs on your team, at least in my experience.

same, almost every game is full of feeders/ragers etc.
I feel like the skill level of everyone in general has dropped significantly all of a sudden (probably less in the queue or something)

Some more self QQ related to some of the above posts: I suck at DotA since the holidays began. Can't figure out why. Probably should take a break for a week or so.

Atleast it wasnt a vlads rush pl.

All of them are legit in pub games. I am failed to see what is your point. Jungle doom, uncontested, can farm radi fast so it is ok. PL manta is okish when there is not that much gank. Naix mjollnir is pretty legit. Dk drum-treads is more than OK, pretty good actually, since DK shines after lvl16-late game. It is good to survive early game.
