It works just fine like how Naga works with Tidehunter. It now require a tiny amount of timing instead of being a braindead combo but it'll still hit.

Actually how does this matchmaking system work? If you are good does it pit you against better players or WITH players that are weaker than you?
Matchmaking system works in a way in which the shorter the wait time the closer your teammates and opponents are to you in skill level. The longer the wait time the wider the search range becomes which may have you encountering lesser skilled players on your team or theirs that balance out the overall mmr's of the team.
The same can be said for 5man stacks. When you play one, if you get a queue pop in under a minute, chances are you facing another 5 stack or a mostly stacked team. Where as the longer the search range, aka the longer the search time, the more randoms you will probably face, most likely at a higher skill level to even out the stack versus randoms.
This is in a post somewhere on the dev forums by one of the developers, can't remember where I saw the link but I think it was in general discussion on TL.

A friend of mine has 240 more hours of Dota 2 played than I do and yet he still does not know the basic juke spots as well as basic knowledge of spells like shuriken toss mini-stunning or that repel is purgable.
You can take a noob to water, but you can't make him drink, I guess.

I forgot to include that he constantly flames other players and has violent outbursts when anyone gives him constructive advice. He always falls back to yelling "I DON'T GIVE A SHIT" into the microphone and then slams his hands on the desk when I try to feed him knowledge. He's a lost cause. QQ

Sorry for saying this, but why do you have him as a friend? 
The thing that bothers me the most in pubs is that my team always seems to end up being 4 melee's + me since I always try to pick last to get something the team needs since everyone is just gonna pick whatever they want and don't care about other picks.

This thread is too funny. Half the posters state how they play "like god" but lose 75% of games because of bad team. The matchmaking may be bad but it ain't that bad. You just might be a scrub who overrates himself way too much.
Also, I sort of expected more QQ stories about people failing themselves, not these stupid "me imba, team fail" posts the thread is filled with. The stories about self-fails are way funnier.
Also if you frequently get people who for example "vlads first BR jungle brewmaster on my team. what in the fuck is happening to me?" you are in a horrible MMR and most definately suck horribly yourself. There is no ELO/MMR hell, get better and climb the ladder, the games will get better too.

I always play AP, hit the random button and troll, but Matchmaking always teams me up with "very high mmr" people who carry the shit out of me when i solo queue. QQ

Playing some - 4-5 games and it went like shit. Lost all of them, really stupid losses with DC's, leavers etc.
Taking a break for a hour, since i was almost ready to kill someone...
Finally hits matchmaking button, que pops, and i meet some 5 man clan stack.
Asking in chat if ppl know each other (might be 4 man v 5 man stack, but no one knows each other).
The stacked team doesnt pick before we all have picked (30 sec before mobs spawn), and they counter pick us + cw picks.
Obviously we got stomped.. T_T

game 2: we lose due to a single teamfight in roshan which was...weird, since they appearently knew that we had an obs ward and knew exactly what it showed - and then used it to set us up. I'd call hacks but...hmm, I'll have to rewatch the game. Things snowball from there since they're 4 carries + Lesharc, and I honestly didn't mind all this too much

got a friend that came out today telling me he just discovered double-clicking tp brings you to base - he has been playing dota since last christmas, and previously played hon for 2 years (it works the same way).

Fucking hate new people that pick hard carries and come in and say "im new btw" and proceed to get no god damn items and feed more than I do (im fairly new and play support because I do research before i play games) Also 2 people on my team decided to go tiny+wisp and proceed to also feed the other team after saying "tiny wisp OP combo" Going to be a bitch to get some good teammates if i lose cause of these dumb people >_>

After writing 2 papers today, I decided to play a game of dota. And guess what happens.... we get a sylla PICK after I random DK and someone else randoms luna. Good shit right? Our luna/pudge proceed to go 0-20 in the first 20 minutes... also our sylla went 0-4. I fucking love dota.
