You can always try to recruit for a second in house. Assuming there are twice as many people around to play.

Hardly ever that many players online. You just have to get lucky to catch an inhouse and then most of the same players will play another one and some join / some leave and it continues for like 5ish hours. If you join the teamliquid chat channel inside the dota client there is sometimes people writing there when lobbies for inhouses start.
You could also have an eye open on Firebolt145's stream because he streams inhouses which means you will know when the match is nearing an end and you can join the next lobby. Try to be online 16-18 hours from this post (usually start 20.00 / 8pm CET, dont know american time sry) and the next inhouses should be starting.

IH start near noon GMT-05. Just find lobbies dude, or create your own

There are so many people in the group but usually no in houses when I'm playing.

Nowadays, we kinda always play with the same people everyday

TBH the group chief must give the rights to the people who play the most to use steam announcements, would be better

We should probably try to make a more rigid system for the inhouses, I think a lot of people have stopped playing in them because it's unclear if one is going on, how many people are interested etc. At one point before, we were close to having 3 inhouses going at once... now, you have to sit in a half-empty lobby for like an hour until enough people join up.
What would be optimal IMO would be a dedicated IRC chat room with a bot, similarly to the old TLIHs, but without ranking. Basically, you would go into the channel (where EVERYONE active would be) and write something like "!join" and you would be put in a queue. When 10 people are in the queue, the bot PMs everyone in the queue and tells them to enter a lobby with a specific password.
Good things with this system: * You could see how many people are actively looking to get an IH started. * You could get several IHs more easily since it's clear how many people want to play and the bot could keep track of them. * You could go in, enter queue, then do other things. The PM from IRC will make a noise like a chat program, so you don't need to alt-tab constantly like you do nowadays. * IRC programs usually run at startup etc, no need to use the shitty steam group system to get into the groupchat which is rarely used anyway.
All we need is someone who can actually be bothered to organize it, script the bot etc.

or we could just start using steam announcements and the chat channel
|
On October 03 2012 16:46 Dead9 wrote: or we could just start using steam announcements and the chat channel No one wants to use that shitty steam channel, which is obvious from the fact that 80%+ of the people in the inhouses aren't even in the chat.
As for using steam announcements everytime you want to get an IH going, seems a bit much... and doesn't help with the fact that if there's an IH going on, it's hard to tell how many are interested in starting a new one.

Honestly I'm always too lazy to check which passworded games are full and which aren't and then it's like WAIT TIME QQQQQ.
An ingame chat channel where someone shouts would be awesome for people like me. OH SOMEONE WRITES ABOUT INHOUSE LETS GO.
teamliquid channel way too random for this stuff.

Just go to find lobby with 'tlih' as password, join when you see game is on. There is one usually on around 8pm CEST and last for 4+ hours. Need to update this to the OP i guess.
I think i can make a suggestion on dev forum. Like allow chat channel mod to announce when an IH is on to everyone in the channel.

This is how I do it, but it's ridiculous how you have to alt-tab constantly and even so, you might very well miss the window. When IHs are going on, the game lasts for 30min-1hour, and the downtime between games is sometimes less than 5 minutes. Pretty shitty to keep dota 2 up without being able to play it just to alt-tab to a lobby menu for 50 minutes, then you go pee or make a sandwhich and missed the lobby.
