Headphones and mic help (AKG K92)

Kotreb Croatia1392 Posts May 05 2017 20:20 GMT #1 Hellos, does anyone here have any experience with AKG K92 or 52? I'm thinking about buying K92, but a lot of reviews say that K52 are surprisingly good so i'm not sure if it's worth to invest into K92. Speaking of K92, does anyone also have experience with using them with mobile phones (currently i have samsung s4 mini, but i plan on upgrading to oneplus 3T or oneplus 4 - depending on the money situation). Another thing i'm interested in is how much the sound bleed? To be more precise, i do not live alone and there's always somebody in the same room with me so i'm wondering how much loud are they/ the person in the same room will be able to hear what i'm listening to. I plan on using them for music/games in my room, but also for travelling somewhere/to work (despite ugly gold colour). And on a completely unrelated note, does anyone have experience with Speed Link SPES clip-on microphone? How much of background noise does it pick up (interested for the aformentioned reasons). Thank you

ZeromuS Canada13386 Posts May 08 2017 15:39 GMT #4 If you want headphones that other people won't hear you should buy closed back earphones if you want over ears. If you want in ears then make sure they aren't vented. Some have holes in them to allow air from the outside into them to offer a different soundstage. These will bleed sound since air is moving freely between the driver and the casing (same as open over ears) I am personally a big fan of SHURE products. They're a bit on the heavy side for over ears though so thats something to consider. But for you, closed headphones would be the best.

Kotreb Croatia1392 Posts May 08 2017 16:31 GMT #5 Yeah. I set my sight on K92 since a lot of people seem pleased about them and they are in my financial range. Can you recommend me some? Basically i want closed headphones / monitor style (not into bass heavy HP's and stuff like that) which sound flat/natural. Basically i want to hear the music the way artist intended it to sound. What are your thoughts on K52 or K72? I also tried AT M30, but friend made some modifications to it so i wasn't extremely happy about them.

I don't think there are many good quality flat level response headphones under 100$ The AKG 92 are apparently closed back from a quick google search, so if they bleed its due to poor construction and quality overall. My SHURE SRH840s for example bleed zero sound until I turn them up really loud and thats just negative sound escaping from the plastic casing. And even the bleed is very minimal and I need to have it turned up to deafening loud levels for it to start tbh. My in ear Shure SE535s don't bleed at all and I never turn anything up past 25-30% to hear them. Kotreb Croatia1392 Posts May 08 2017 19:59 GMT #7 I also thought about that Sony hp's, but they are out of my price range atm :S Not really interested into in ears atm. What about SHURE SRH440? Or AKG K 240 mkII? What are your thoughts about them? Basically i don't plan on buying headphones in Croatia since they cost an arm and a leg, so i'm probably gonna order them from amazon or smtgh since it's almost twice cheaper so my budget is probably around 75-80$

ZeromuS Canada13386 Posts May 08 2017 20:00 GMT #8 Never tried either of them. check reviews, so long as they are mostly flat and closed hopefully they work for you. I like shure, so the 440 should at the very least be of a good build quality.
