You should consider some sort of larger storage device. An SSD is really nice for running stuff, but with only 250 GB of total storage there is a big chance that you will get pretty annoyed by the lack of storage space. You might want to take a look at either a larger SSD or some sort of additional HDD.

250 GB should be enough as long as it isn't used for amassing a large video or picture or ISO collection. Lets say windows take up 30 GB, leaving 220 GB and modern games take up 30 GB (!) then you got space for 7 of those 30 GB games. And a lot of modern games can actually make do with 10 GB anyways.

250GB isn't enough. It's actually 232GB you really can use. Diablo3 takes 20GB, sc2 rather 30GB. GTA V uses 70GB.
Go for ~500GB.

Especially considering that games are not going to get smaller in the future, and you probably wanna use your system for a while. There is a bunch of games in the 50Gb range already, and i find it pretty annoying to have to constantly uninstall and reinstall stuff.

I know that i currently have a 250Gb SSD in my PC, in addition to a 1Tb HDD, and i still have to think about what to install and what to remove regularly. And i don't really have a lot of videos or any ISOs.

I mean, sure, i could probably do with just the SSD, but that would require me to very ruthlessly remove stuff as soon as i don't use it anymore. Which takes a lot of effort.

Well, I do have an additional 1TB HDD, so I tend to find it a bit easy to decided what to remove and install, but I suppose you are right that 250 GB SSD may not be enough. Especially since the rest of the build is not really budget now that I look at it.

No reason not to go 1TB on your SSD tbh. Price-point is decent and it saves you a lot of hassle in the future.

You can get lucky and find a good SSD on discount but in most cases the MX500 offers the best bang for your buck.

They do yeah, but Intel uses similar pins as well - just on the CPU side. Either way it's the most fragile part of system building.

Well, no chance for Ice Lake this year. Intel is going to release Comet Lake (based on Skylake) with 10 cores. Very weak response to Ryzen 3000 series. :D

I dunno, I notice little to no difference running most games on SSD vs HDD. Anything multiplayer is pointless since you're gated by the loading speeds of other players anyway. If you're going to spend extra for a bigger SSD you're probably better off just getting an HDD for storage space instead.

Little to no difference at games on SSD vs HDD. The biggest difference is the loading screen and launching the game. From all Blizzard games, WoW and Diablo3 should be on SSD. If your opponent in sc2 is playing on HDD, your SSD power is wasted (you will see that at loading screen when you are 100% and your opponent isn't even 20% loaded) .WoW and Diablo3 are fully independent in multiplayer, so you can enjoy your SSD speed with it.

I'm trying to put together a Pc for my girlfriend. She's not a hardcore gamer, but plays some titles like Diablo 3 and wants to play them comfortably.

What is your budget?
1000$, and I would rather keep the total cost as low as possible. I.e., I prefer to buy cheaper parts if the increase in the performance isn't essential/significant.

I plan to give her my used GTX 1060 for 180$ (I'm not rich enough to just gift it to her unfortuantely) and buy myself a new card. Do you think getting rtx 2060 is reasonable (I'm using 1440p monitor for games like Witcher 3 and GTA 5)? Or should I consider other cards?

I'm far from being an expert, so I would be very grateful if you could tell me if this build seems all right or if I should change something.

If not, and if those need to be in the budget, you probably need to reduce the total of that PC in some way. My rough guess is that that is a bit more power than you need for D3, but i might be wrong here. And a bit of futureproofness cannot hurt either.

Other stuff not directly related to the build:

I would be terrified to build a PC for another person. If i build it for myself, i know that the stuff is my stuff, and if i break something it is my fault. If i broke something that another person had paid for that would suck, especially if it is something that i probably can't afford to rebuy for them.

Similar thoughts with regards to the sale of that GPU: You will be selling to her at about ebay price, you might want to think about giving your girlfried a better deal. Also, if that thing ever breaks that might lead to some relationship problems.

Yes, she has all the peripherals and I also think that a little bit of futureproofness is ok.
After quick internet search it seems that in my region the price of DHL/UPS/etc outweighs the benefits of buying things separately for the lowest price. So I will probably buy everything from one shop, and since they can put everything together for like 5$, I probably won't touch (and break) anything myself. Although it is interesting question how we could/will deal with a problem like this and the future failures of her PC. The 200$ is not set in stone yet, I will (probably) give her some bonus

I have not looked at hardware in 10 9 years, which is how old my rig is. I have next to no clue what the state of the art is. I am currently considering an upgrade:

Primary use:
Deep Learning

Secondary use:
Cyberpunk 2077

I followed this guide for GPU selection and want to go for the RTX 2070 recommended there

1. Generally speaking, clock speeds and outputs, and in some cases, a better cooler (quieter for same temps).
2. higher end modern processors(i5 or i7) are all going to be fast enough for gaming. GPU is going to be a much bigger limiter in most titles.
3. SSD is reusable, PSU probably is as well. Nothing has really changed.
4. Practically speaking, as far as feature sets go, RTX has ray tracing support, but aren't fast enough to run most games with it. In practice get whichever one meets your price/performance point.
5. Mobo - Get one with features that you'd want (in general, 4 RAM slots, NVME slot, enough fan headers/USB headers to run your stuff. For RAM just pick a capacity(I'd recommend 16GB at minimum), and then pick a speed(higher is better).

SSD makes a noticeable difference for Hearthstone as well, game is really sluggish on an HDD.
