black friday vs xmas sales, which one yields best deals for gpus? im looking at a 465$ 1070, which is the cheapest ive ever seen it here
or the 1060 at 230usd
guessing i should save for a 1070 tho for 1080p144

Anyone use the CM Evo on a mini-itx in a small mid-tower? It must be a nightmare, all these years building PCs I only use standard ATX boards with a mid-tower.

Considering the demand for 10xx GPUs, prices wouldn't go down much either way. The 1060 6GB version lowest is ~$215. Unless you're willing to go down to the 3GB minis, which for 1080/144 is not enough if you want texture settings at ultra.
I picked up my 1060 6GB for $219 during the beginning of Black Friday sales and they were gone the next day.

Hey everyone, Happy Black Friday!
If you had to buy a GPU right now, which one would be best for your $? (assuming your budget is 200-300 on the GPU, the less, the better)
480 8gb with the CIV 6 coupon o 320$? Or the slightly cheaper 4 GB ? In both cases, I might be looking to sell the CIV 6 coupon, to regain some $.
Otherwise, Rx 470 is about 100$ cheaper, GTX 1060 are also within budget
I'm building a computer for my brother and managed to get one of the i5-6600k that was on special this black friday! For this year, he will probably not upgrade his 1080p monitor.
All m y prices are in Canadian $

I'm a bit confused if someone can help me. I am looking to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 760 to either a GTX 980 or GTX 1060. However, the GTX 4GB 980 is listed 100-200 USD higher than the GTX 6GB 1060. Am I just looking in the wrong place or is the GTX 4GB 980 card a better card than the GTX 6GB 1060?

1060 6GB is better, 970/980's just went EOL (end of life) a while ago as they were replaced by the 1060. Low stock and somewhat random pricing follows that (sometimes sales to get rid of inventory, sometimes there are only a few left at inflated prices for stuff like people buying a second one to run SLI..)
Get a 1060

They did have some 1070's etc on Amazon's Black Friday, though.

There's this: 1070 with watchdogs 2

The bundle deals are pretty much always going on, anywhere from 1-3 AAA games (but rarely more than 1). 7% off is about what I'd expect for a high demand card during a sale.
Watch Dogs 1 was actually the game I got bundled with my old 780s a few years ago.

hah yea cept im looking for a 1060 since a 1060 will still be massive improvement from my 760 atm and it is like 100-200 usd cheaper than the 1070
edit: Hmm do I buy the GTX 1060 6GB for $250 USD before it gets sold out or do I wait another day to see if it will dip in price?

everything seems to be using so much ram nowadays. my gmail tab uses 400-500mb. I used to play Rome Total War and Civ IV with 256mb :/

OC model is cheaper with rebate atm than the stock. Better pick it up before supply is gone, you're at most going to save $10-$15 if the price does dip and that is for the stock clock models.
I don't know about Amazon deals as my city charges over 8% sales tax, newegg is my only real option.

RAM is cheap, just don't bother with the fancy heat spreaders. The prices went up with demand but couple of months ago a pair of 4GB DDR4 2400 was about $33.

it is cheap if you are in US, the expensive thing is USD.
$40 (8gb stick) is 4 meals for a friend with a tight budget in US. It is about 15 meals for me.

CPU : i3 6100 GC : GTX 1060 MOBO : - mini-ITX : MSI H110I Pro or Gigabyte GA-H110N - micro-ATX : Gigabyte GA-B150M-DS3H RAM : Kingston HyperX Fury 8Gb 2133Mhz DDR4 HDD : WD Blue 1Tb PSU : EVGA 450 B1 Case : - mini-ITX : Cooler Master Elite 130 - micro-ATX : Cooler Master N200
On Amazon.com that's ~550$
I put only one stick of RAM because 2x4Gb actually cost a lot more for DDR4 right now, and later on you'll have that second slot on the motherboard available for upgrade anyway.
Theres several GTX 1060 at a decent price when i checked, 3Gb Asus or Gigabyte for 200$ and EVGA at 215$ With this you should be able to get 90+ fps on max settings in OW
