That's a displayport connector, there is also mini displayport it's digital and higher bandwidth than DVI (white connector), should be able to be converted with a passive adapter if your screens don't have displayport inputs, if that's what you have Is this the future? How do I fix the future? :D + Show Spoiler +

I'm not super educated on the subject, just have some kind of idea from previous discussion on tl/ocn so take the stuff above with a grain of salt

This graphics card has an output for the white one and an adapter to make it fit a blue one. It also has what looks like a wide USB port and what looks like a flat USB port. Is this the future? How do I fix the future? Check your monitors to see if they support the "wide USB port" (HDMI) Otherwise you want to convert the HDMI signal to "blue quadrilateral" (VGA) with some sort of adapter if that's what you've been using as your monitor input. From what I've read, HDMI is a digital format output, but the motherboard has the technology to create the analog clock signals needed to push a VGA signal over HDMI or DVI format If you're willing to wait, http://www.monoprice.com/ has every conceivable cable imaginable for pretty cheap prices.

If through some miracle it actually does have only one output, unless it's display port (>= v1.2, which it likely would be) or that wonky similar-to-dvi-but-not thing, there isn't a way to do multiple distinct screens. You can also often run a second screen off the mobo output, just don't use it for gaming.

![]() To hook up a second monitor with DVI ("white quadrilateral") you can get an adapter for either the display port http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-DisplayPort-Video-Adapter-Converter/dp/B0017K6BD2 or the HDMI port http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Adapter-Plated-Connector-Female/dp/B000FUVNX8 If you need VGA ("blue quadrilateral") purchase one of the above adapters and http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-DVI-Cable-Adapter-DVIVGAMF/dp/B000067SOH Many monitors also come with HDMI connections in which case you could just purchase an HDMI cable (do it online since they're stupidly expensive at stores). **note, I pulled up the first google search for each adapter and did not spend any time looking for the best deal**

I want to game on my main monitor and use my second to browse or watch streams or w.e while gaming. However, not every game has a "windowed fullscreen" mode so if I'm playing a game on my main monitor that is fullscreen and click on my secondary monitor it minimizes my game. Now I know there is no way in windows 7 to force stop it from minimizing but does anyone know any software that won't mess up my monitors that I could use to keep my games from minimizing on my monitor? http://superuser.com/a/481670

Make sure that you enable EIST, c3, c6/c7 etc and set windows power plan to balanced. Disable the iGPU if you're not using it and then your CPU idle power will be like 5 watts - it should be barely above ambient even on a shitty cooler
