Installed them all and it won't POST. Says he reseated everything, checked power and data to everything and nothing. It'll turn on for a couple of seconds and shut down before anything comes on the screen. HDD, Fans, lights all spin up. I'm not there myself to double check for him, maybe I'll go over there tomorrow, but any ideas? He's claiming the mobo manual says it needs a 500w supply, but the pcpartpicker says estimated 338w needed. I don't see why the mobo would give a shit how much power it has.

triple check all connections, there are multiple into the mobo for the CPU etc

Additionally, there's less of a battle trying to cool the i5. An i7 runs a good bit hotter because of HyperThreading so there's a good chance that the max. speed you get through overclocking will be higher if you choose an i5 (though you could technically disable HyperThreading on the i7, but then you spent $100 for nothing). The max. speed is the sole thing that determines the framerate you'll see in WoW, nothing special about the i7 will help push it in front. All of this is of course highly influenced by luck. What I just wrote about i5 > i7 is basically only true when thinking about averages. The particular CPU you get might be very good or very bad, no matter if you decide on i5 or i7. You could choose Crucial MX100 to save some money on the SSDs. There's also a 512gb model for $210 or so, and a possibly more robust Crucial M550 512gb for $250. You should look up the prices for faster RAM. If you find a memory kit with something like 2133 MHz that's close in price to that 1600 MHz kit you have on your list, then choose the faster kit. You won't gain a lot of FPS, but you will still get a little bit more. If you think about it as adding $15 or so to the price of the whole machine, it's definitely worth it. Basically, only choose 1600 MHz if you get it very cheap. I literally can quit / am quitting my job with a nest egg, have WoW : WoD and prepaid card in hand, and my whole pc in parts before me. I think I should have asked you or Cyro, etc for the i5 frontload advice, but I think I'll start streaming some Twilight Princess speed runs on the Gamecube.

HF with WOD, i'm glad to have overclocked Haswell. In lightly populated zones when it's 300fps on OC haswell vs 150fps on stock FX, it doesn't matter that much when it's 120 vs 60, it doesn't matter that much either but when the game looks like this: ![]() Having 30fps while everyone on FX, phenom II or first gen core CPU's at stock has 10-15fps is really nice. Monster CPU ftw :D WoW shows almost no scaling past 2 cores and no benefit going from 3 to 4 cores or adding hyperthreading, it's pretty similar to sc2 and some other MMO's (i tested that recently, on the current expansion patch)

I am going to two pc shops and I will inscribe with price from all cpu+mb they have. I never did online ordering, so I am very limited. Most likely I need new ddr rams too, I am going to buy the one with lowest price.

I trust your opinion since you have helped me out in the past and my monitor knowledge is pretty crappy. I've looked up both TN and IPS but tbh I have no clue tho

I don't feel like fighting my way through stores tho in the morning since I live around one of the biggest malls in the US/stores they get insane.

There's no real need to go to a store, newegg and tigerdirect both have monitors at that price already http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4841118&csid=_61&rrpl=item_page.content1&rrstr=ClickCP&rrindex=1 there's i think some 10 dollar off coupon for that as well and for the average user who does more than just gaming 2 decent monitors will usually be better than 1 144hz or whatever thing

Whether or not you'll be able to actually snag one before the unwashed masses is another story. MoA?

Be Quiet's facilities were shown in this video. Some interesting stuff, they mostly show test benches though instead of the actual factories. Be quiet is entering the case market though, which I find interesting. It's also about time that they did, in my opinion. If you have CPU coolers, power supplies and fans, it's only natural that you also start making cases as well. Nice stuff (though it'll probably be overpriced like all be quiet products lul)

A TN monitor that expensive that's only 60 Hz 1080p is a waste. Nobody knows what's best for you because it depends on your preferences (different things better for different purposes), but it doesn't seem like you have any idea what you want. How many monitors do you own now, and what are you using now? If you have a laptop, unless it's certain higher-end models it's likely that even a $100 generic TN monitor is going to kill its screen for quality overall. Go here and click "start test" on the colored squares and report what you see. http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/response_time.php Go here and look at the solid colors (try a relatively close viewing distance but no closer than you'd realistically use during normal operation) and report what you see. http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/viewing_angle.php How much do you game, and how much is that a priority? Which kinds of games? On November 16 2014 19:11 Incognoto wrote: + Show Spoiler + Saw this on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng_rajEF3Aw Be Quiet's facilities were shown in this video. Some of the other larger brands like Corsair and such should be similar in this regard: offices for design / testing / sales / marketing, no manufacturing.
