Is this something to expect from most webcam microphones, or could it just because this is an old/cheap model? I was thinking about upgrading to the Logitech C310. I know the resolution of the video would be a huge improvement, but I'm not sure if the microphone is any better. Another option is finding a gaming headset with a microphone, but those seem a bit more expensive. ~$40 budget.

I can just stream but I would like to commentate/talk while I stream. Will it be better to buy a good webcam or buy a good headset with mic or just a mic that I can put close to my mouth? p.s. Do people prefer to see streamer's face? I always thought it was a better thing since people can see gamer's expression, but I just found some posts online that it actually distracts people from watching games?...

On mic type: go for a headset mic if your audio output from your computer won't be a problem. Some headsets are bad, and the sound from them can get to the mic, but if you avoid that it's good. I personally think a mic headset would be better if you're in an environment where there may be background noise, and you're not a mouthbreather. ![]() As for branding, etc., I'm not an expert at all. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will post.
