Windows 7 is black and white

For some reason my windows have stopped showing color. it just happened and i have no idea why. theres color while it boots but when it comes to login screen its black and white.

i have taken a picture with my phone:

Have you installed anything new recently? New hardware or drivers? Any errors or its just black and white all of a sudden?

just black and white all of a sudden :S i took a print screen and sent to a friend and that have color. havent installed anything the last week.

Well let´s get the obvious things out first: Wobble your screen cables around and see if it glitches back, then check your GPU for sick amounts of dust, check to see your card is properly inserted, that all the dimms are in there.

The screenshot showing color means that there is actually color, your computer can render it but you can´t see it(or so i speculate) hence i'm guessing it´s hardware related. Try with a new card/monitor aswell if you are able to do so. It's just good to get hardware out of the picture, try a different cable aswell if able.

Sounds like it may be your video card graphics properties. I don't have an ati/nvidia control panel in front of me, but you may want to check to see if 'color', 'saturation', 'contrast' etc are setup properly.

it's also black and white on my tv.
ive tried removing dust and all didnt help.

i found it thanks :D in nvidia controlpanel with digital vibrance was set at 0% :D very wierd it just changed the properties.. never been in there

Could have been a universal hotkey (one that can be pressed while nVidia ctrl. panel is not in focus) that you pressed. Check your advanced settings and whatnot and disable all that jazz. The other day I was playing a custom game and pressed a hotkey that flipped my screen 90 degrees mid-game. That was pretty epic. Now I have those hotkeys disabled.
