I'm a SC2 player. I often play, about one or two hours per day. 3months ago, i bought my first mechanical keyboard, the SteelSeries 6GV2.
So, my team mate said to me : when you play with this keyboard, you will encounter some difficulties (as well as pain eventually) for one or two week, which is usually the required adjustement time.
But now, i feel a real pain into my wrist. I don't know if it's because i have a wrong wrist positioning with this style of keyboard or if it's because i haven't a wrist's support as many keyboard have?
I can describe my "placing" futhermore, if necessary, to determine if it's me or if it's this style of keyboard that doesn't match with me.

I don't use a wrist-rest, either, and have no problems. Maybe your hand position is just weird.

Your wrist should be above the keyboard and you should not make contact with the keyboard or desk with your wrist, if you have to, use a high chair or add pillows to chair and use an arm wrest for your elbow.. most people get ergonomics really wrong, especially the ones sitting like half a meter too low. It's actually a challenge to find a chair high enough for a lot of desks.
You should also move the keyboard so that your left hand, when straight, goes straight onto wasd, with the right angled onto it, at least for playing sc2. I mean, so that you have your left hand straight - onto WASD, and your right hand also straight - onto the mouse. A centralized keyboard seems to be very very common, and it's not good for the left arm being angled like that constantly for hours under a stress like sc2

Encountering pain is not a good thing or even should be accepted you're typing not lifting weights, you're pinching a nerve.
Stretch your wrists even once and awhile. It's probably from putting your wrists on your table instead of properly typing with your wrists off the table. Also if you have the little stand offs up at the top back of your keyboard put those back down, they only angle your wrists even more and cause the problem.
Ideally you never rests your wrists on a desk or table. After that probably take resting your elbow on a chair's arm rests while keeping your wrists off a desk, then using a wrist rest, then no wrist rest. In order of usefulness to the health of your hands. Anyways if you can't keep your wrists off the table fold up a thick t-shirt and rest your wrists on that, it should at least distribute the pressure more evenly and elevate your hands above the keyboard so you don't angel your wrists up.

My wrist angle on keyboard is not exactly a great demonstration
We can all try to be perfect and do the whole back straight thing and not wresting wrist or elbow or arm at any point, and its great for like two hours. But after you have been up for 12 hours, a couple games in its just not really possible any more, slumping happens to some degree at least

I'm resting my arm and I have no problem with the keyboard hand, only with the mouse hand. I push my keyboard far onto the table, to get enough room to have my complete forearm flat on the table. The elbow is hanging a bit over the ledge, not touching the table unless reaching for Escape or F keys. I use no wrist rest, the keyboard's feet in the back are not extended (that part is important for me, to not have the wrist bend backwards much).

I actually never saw anyone using a keyboard like that, it's practically halfway hanging in the air, same as your hand.

Thats only the very left edge. The desk is curved and over 90% of the keyboard is on it
It shouldnt make much difference unless you are literally resting your hand/wrist/arm on the desk while typing which is a bad idea
