I have difficulties finding Ram for my old motherboard. I bought some ram (like 8gb) but they didn't seem to work as after I set them in my computer ceased starting.
I put in efford finding suitable ram, but seeing that abit from my understanding no longer exists I can't find any informations on useable ram.
Can someone please help me out and tell me what Ram I can buy that would work on my Abit 35 pro.
Many thanks in advance

That motherboard is really old, socket 775. It uses DDR2 RAM. Here's an example of a 1x4GB stick you could use or a 2x2GB set you could buy. I don't know how much RAM you have or how much you want to upgrade.

Thanks for your help mate. Though I am not sure I want to invest 70€ for 4 gb ram. I use 2 GB ram but that's quite problematic, that's why I want to increas my ram since a long time. Do you belive it is possible to find cheaper suitable ram? Or do I have to bite in the soure apple?

Did you use a 2x4GB kit by any chance?
No, I bought DDR3 ram because I thought it was better... I am stupid, I know.

do you use 32-bit or 64-bit windows? if 32 bit then im probably going to assume xp but either way weather its xp or 7, just buy a 1-2gb stick

I use win 7 64bit, since a few month. If increasing the ram doesn't help I might go back to xp though.

If the 8 gig is too expensive you can still go up to 4 gigs and you should see improvement. What is your ram configuration right now. Can you add to what you already have in there or do you have to take the old stuff out?

You're using 64 bit so you don't have to worry. 32 bit has a <4GB total memory limit. You already said they were ddr3 right?

Those are laptop memory so no they wouldn't work.. you need DDR2 desktop memory.
