I bought a Razer Megalodon headset (the one with it's own sound card attached to it) and I'm having problems with the 7.1 sound. Keep in mind that the headset runs fine on 2.0 sound. My problem is the following : For it to run properly on 7.1, the manual asks me to access the advanced properties under the Volume tab at the Sound and Audio devices menu located in the Control Panel. The problem is that those options show up as Greyed out and therefore inaccessible. How do I enable those options? | ||

I've had this headset for a couple years now, please, do yourself a favor and return it while you still can. First off, it's not 'true' 7.1 surround sound. Second, Razer support is so bad when it comes to assisting you. And third, nearly every game you will most likely play will not support this headset. If you attempt to use the 7.1 option in a game say like Counter-Strike or any of the MW series, you'll find that every noise produced in game comes out of each speaker equally, making it impossible to locate enemies. I know you came here seaking advice to fix your issue, but I'd rather save you the $150 dollars and just tell you to return it. This headset has been a nightmare for me. | ||

Read my post above... just return it. The support for this product is horrendous and wait until you try updating the firmware for the known issues that Razer was aware of since day 1 of release. | ||
