So recently I've been having a wierd sound output problem on SC2, and only when I open SC2 does this happen. If earphones/headsets are plugged into my laptop, and I open the game, all third-party sounds, such as music from youtube and/or itunes, that have been playing before I open SC2 on my earphones/headsets start playing through the speakers of my laptop (built-in). Therefore I can never listen to third-party music and play SC2 at the same time through my headset, since somehow my computer is "separating" the two different sounds because of their sources, or maybe because SC2 is messing with my output? I really don't know and I'm a computer newbie so please help me!
On Menu>Options>Sound in SC2 I've tried all three options in the output settings: "default" (SC2 in headset, third-party sounds through speakers), "speakers/headset" (same thing) and "Independant Headphones" (same thing).
I've tried to go to Playback devices (Windows 7)>disable speakers so I could try to "force" all sounds into my headset but it doesn't work and the third-party music, instead of coming out of the built-in speakers, just doesn't come out anywhere anymore.
I've tried switching headgear, from a Sony headset (quite primitive) to standard earphones. Same problem on both fronts. The sounds are still "separated".
Quick update: I tried unplugging the headset while SC2 was running, and the game froze for a few seconds, and now nothing ever comes out of my headset/earphones anymore when I play. Everything comes out of my speakers regardless of what I do; and when I do Playback devices>disable speakers nothing comes out anywhere anyhow. Wtf.
Any advice?
