I am now letting it dry upside down and I am hoping I didnt do serious damage to it by letting it plugged in for several minutes trying to figure out which keys are still working and which dont. What a coincidence. The same happened to me 2 days ago. And yes it fucked up the keyboard bigtime as the keyboard wouldn't even light up or work at all, but it's all fine now. I removed all keys, used a hairdryer on it for like 10 minutes continuously and then it was all ok.

I wouldn't use a hair dryer on any keyboard, good chance you'll warp the plastic or blow the water from somewhere it won't do damage to somewhere it will. I'd pull the keys off and let it dry upside down on some paper towels.

The L key was sticky for a while but it's fine now. I'd say just air it out for a while, bag of rice will help as well. Water is a good conductor, and if any electricity goes through it to the wrong place, it's toast. The black, burnt kind that you can't eat.

Maybe depends on if they are plugged in.. you said it yourself. cheap keyboards. This is not one of those. Mechanical keyboards are not the same thing as the cheap membrane stuff that you washed under running water.

I recently spilled tea on my black widow and thankfully after unplugging it wiping it up and setting it upside down overnight it decided to keep living. However, my space bar no longer makes the "click" sound. It still works but may be a tiny bit less responsive than i'm used to and it's just generally frustrating. Do you all have any suggestions that I could try to get the space to function as it used to?

I don't want to sound like a dick, but there are thousands of threads across TL, OCN etc on repairing blackwidows after spills. Here is a guide. Do some searching before you post next time.

I then stupidly knock my glass of water over, it spilling on the keyboard and iphone. I hold the keyboard upside down while my bro gets paper towels. In the chat box on twitch i noticed -------- was being inputed, and then nothing. The computer then started making the sound when you connect/disconnect something repeatedly, so i unplugged it. My iphones fine btw. The keyboard is currently under a fan. I decided to try to plug ot in after water was no longer noticeable, but my comp was "unsuccessful in installing driver software". And the keyboard obv didnt work. So its under the fan I've read online that some people take apart their keyboard, pour distilled water over it, and let it dry put it back together and its fine. I've also read that some people use blowdryers and let it dry for a few days and its fine However, ive read you should immediately unplug the keyboard, and i didnt do that. So TL, is it salvagable? I promise i become chobo gosu progamer and beat all koreans if you fix it. + Show Spoiler + just kidding, i wish. But this really is ruining my day. If you do it again, remember. If it was just a couple of drops, shake it upside down for like a minute or so. Then put a towel underneath and get a hairdryer and blow the keyboard. Then put it in the oven on 50 celsius. And let it dry in there ![]()
