Try holding down the Fn key as you plug the keyboard in, then I you should be able to run firmware stuff (assuming its the same problem I had). OMG I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH! IT WORKED, i was in the process of returning the keyboard to razer and getting a replacement. thankyou sooo Much <3

First i want to give thanks to this guy gevil http://gevil.wordpress.com/2011/05/28/razer-black-widow-ultimate-firmware-update-failure-and-how-to-solve-it/ i have spent like 6 hours trying to fix the keyboard, but i finally got it. once you install version 1.03 and 1.05 go to your bootloader , then right click update driver ... from there you should be able to chose the file "RzrBtLdr" when you update the driver, you will have (!) on boot loader, then run synapse it will be fixed.

I had the same problem so I sent an e-mai to Razer, here's the response, it worked perfectly for me ! "Hello, Please try updating the firmware. Note: The latest BlackWidow PC driver must be downloaded & installed first on the PC that you are going to use to perform the firmware update process; this firmware update process can not be done on a Mac. Download and install the latest BlackWidow driver from the Razerzone website at: http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view&parentcategoryid=114&pcid=81&nav=0,77,191,81 Now, perform the firmware update by holding down the FN key on your keyboard and then connect the BlackWidow USB cable to the computer and after 5 seconds release the FN key. Updating the firmware basically resets the device." Hope it helps for those who have the same problem, I guess it works the same for ultimate one ![]()

First of all, I have a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition. I unplugged my keyboard. Then plugged it back in. The lights turned on, but the keyboard was dead. I uplugged again, and the lights were off and there was no responses. An updater install came up and I installed it (Thinking my keyboard would be fixed. *BAD DECISION*). My keyboard is now dead. I plug it in and it says that it is in Razer Bootloader mode. It seems to not act as a keyboard, just like a dead and unresponsive piece of space. It acts as a USB port and thats all. I've tryed re-booting my computer, USBs plugged in, out and it is literally DEAD. I can now say that firmware from a Razer Synapse update fucked and killed my keyboard into an unresponsive piece of nothing. I have no idea what to do. There is a bunch of forums on solving to Bootloader problem for a Razer Blackwidow, but not a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth Edition keyboard. I feel alone with this problem, as there is no earlier drivers or updates for my keyboard, now I leave it dead until a hotfix or update from razer...... hopefully. Please leave a reply if you have the same problem, I'd love to know that I am not the only one with this terrible keyboard nightmare.

Try all the blackwidow fixes around (pressing fn keys and shit) or just RMA it.
