Starcraft II stutter lag problem but no fps drop

Hey TL! first time posting in the tech forum.

I'm here to discuss a problem that I suddenly came across while playing sc2.

The problem I get is there seems to be "stutter" kind of lag but with no fps drop.

I realize that this problem was already addressed in one of the threads, but it

has failed to give a solution. So here I am, writing my own thread, hoping to get it fixed.

OS: MS windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k @ 3.30GHz Sandy Bridge 32nm technology
RAM: 4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz (6-8-6-24)
MOBO: ASUSTek Computer INC. Sabertooth P67 LGA1155
GPU: 1280MB GeForce GTX 570 (EVGA)
HD: 625 GB WD WD6402AAEX-00Z3A0 ATA Device (SATA) Caviar black
Network Card: Asus PCE N-13 802.11b/g/n wireless card

Speed: 6mbps down with bell

The only concern I have with my pc is that it runs on wireless. But my router is relatively close (just across the wall) and I have excellent signal and no problem with dl speed while browsing or downloading files.

Again, I do not have any FPS drop or whatsoever. I constantly get 60fps+ (but I fps glued it to 60 fps) at extreme/ultra settings at 1920*1080

All my drivers are updated and I can't seem to find the problem with my PC.

I get this lag because I'm on wireless. If you don't use wireless then I don't know.

edit: Ok you do use wireless. That's your problem and if you want to fix it use wired. I've googled around for this a while ago and they all said it was because of the wireless connection.

Aside from wireless, did you update your windows fully to the absolute latest (including trivial shit that shouldn't matter like IE updates). I used to have exactly what you describe 90% of the time until I did this. Core updates alone did not fix it, not until I let it do all the seemingly trivial ones too.

Does it happen in "offline" mode ? (either true offline mode, or a campaign/vs AI map)
If it's not a net problem it should. But I bet it won't. Because your issue stinks of a network problem for sure ;p

Edit: I'm pretty sure "custom games" created in the Multiplayer tab still count as online games even if you only play vs the AI. You gotta start a game from the campaign/challenges/vs AI from the Singleplayer tab. GL

The stutter issues in the video that you linked are indicative of network lag. If you have the same type of stuttering, then it's likely the same problem. Keep an eye out for the unit portrait when the stutter occurs. If it's a true framerate stutter, the portrait should stop moving momentarily, while if it's a network lag, the portrait animation will be uninterrupted.

Funny thing is, It doesn't happen every couple of seconds. Well it does when it starts to happen but what i'm saying is that there are some games that are perfectly fine and smooth like a silk, and there are others that stutter like this.

Hi Guys, I kept getting this problem intermittently. I checked the BIOS and Intel Speed Step was on AUTO. I switched it to Enabled and seems to work fine now. Hope this helps.
