Hi TL,
I am using a Steelseries Xai for about 2-3 month now. I also tested some different settings from some pros like cArn, gTr, f0rest, dsn (I know those are CS1.6 pro's) but i noticed that:
cArn is playing with the following settings:
CPI1 (Led off) = 774 CPI2 (Led on) =1800 SteelSeries ExactRate = 500 Hz
and f0rest and gTr are playing with:
CPI1 (Led off) = 400 CPI2 (Led on) = 400 SteelSeries ExactRate = 500 Hz
I felt like using the settings of cArn the mice has lightning-speed and is uncontrollable for me. And with the settings of f0rest or gTr it feels like a need the whole table to move from one window-edge to another.
So my current settings i feel ok with are:
CPI1 (Led off) = 825 CPI2 (Led on) = 825 SteelSeries ExactRate = 500 Hz
What settings do you use for OS or gaming? And what are you're experience with the mouse/settings.
Thanks for you're answers.

I use a 60hz 1080p monitor, so my exact rate is always 960: Sc2/Normal: 1500cpi off 3000cpi on exact rate 960
L4D2: 3000cpi off 2200cpi on
BF3: 375cpi off 2500 cpi on
MW3: 960 cpi off 2500 cpi on
Win 7 mousespeed 6. Some things for you: It makes no sense, to use the same rates for off and on. Or if you do it, you have no benefit of it. Always use 960 exact rate if you have a 60hz monitor and a PC that can support max fps. Everything comes down to your mousespeed in game. So always try to use 1.00 and change it in the Xai Config to avoid multiplicators. Last thing: Use whatever suits you the best.

Hi,
thanks for your replay Coward. What's exactly the difference between CPI off and CPI on? And what's "no scale" in SC2? 50%?
Regards bimmel

With off and on, I just mean the LED. Klicking it on and off is a fast switch between 2 CPI rates. (For example: Jumping into a Jet in BF3 need a lot faster mouse movement.)
At SC2 I have no idea what the "no scale" sensitivity is. I also use 50%. In most games you can change the sens in the console or config.ini, though. Dunno about SC2.

Hi,
ok. But what is the on/off CPI then all about? Why do you need two seperate? Regards bimmel.

In basic terms: The higher the CPI rate is, the faster your Cursor moves.

I think he's referring to the CPI toggle you have on top of your Xai (LED on/off). You use it if you want to change your settings on the fly.
I believe the sensitivity setting you want in-game is 51% -- there's also a setting you can toggle that overrides your mouse settings in your OS. It's up to you.
CPI: 1800 SS ExactRate: 960 Hz Windows: 6/11 In-game 51%

Dont use FPS settings to play RTS unless you play both at a highish level and know what you are doing.
SC2 wont scale mouse sens between 51 and 54% on the slider, though you can use a setting to use the windows option (6/11) to make sure.
I wouldnt go with "whatever suits you best", there is a lot of room for improvement with mouse accuracy and precision and by changing grips around and making massive changes to sensitivities far outside of your comfort zone you can improve a lot i have found. (with mostly lower sens, not higher)
