SS sensei lost tracking ability

Hi, my sensei lost its ability to track on the steelseries HD mousepad.
It stopped working while i used the mouse from one minute to another.
It now has locations on the pad where it doesnt register when i move the mouse, probably the white mini-logos. It still works fine on my desk.

i have no idea what caused it, i was surfing the web when it suddenly stopped working.
I dont know how to fix it, i allready restarted, plugged it to another port, shook the mouse...

You mention that it works fin on your desk so chances are the laser just isn't reflecting (Or however that works?) on the white surface. Do you have another mousepad you could try?

yeah it works on my mat as good as laser mice can work on it.

i suspect something about the laser, but it worked fine before. i dont understand how it can suddenly not work.

edit: WAIT a minute, it works MUCH better on my mat as it should. I switched away from the mat because the cloth structure made the mouse tracking all edgy and twitchy, but now my paint lines and circles are perfect.

Somehow my laser isnt tracking as accurate as before? Ignoring the cloth structure and being unable to track on the HD. whats going on.

edit2: ok, i overwrote the mouseinternal software (it has aprocessor build in) and resetted to factory and now it works again including not tracking on the cloth mat. i wonder what caused this so i can reproduce it whenever i want to use my cloth mat oO

The surface shouldn't matter that much to a laser mouse. Even with a little dust or hair in the sensor, it should work. I'd say it's defective, broken, corroded or something.

No, its ok now.

and its commonly accepted that cloth mats arent optimal for a laser mouse. i mean i can still use it on the cloth mat, but it sometimes just isnt 100% accurate, which is normal.
Its all fine now, the mouse works 100% fine now.

Yeah i have a problem here with my sensei, it doesent work at all on my Razer Golathius Mousepad, but on the table it works or on anything else besides the mousepad:/(
