Does anybody have experiences with the benq RL2450HT?
i have been thinking about getting a new monitor mostly for gaming/some browsing/a few films occasionally in the range of 200-350€ and saw this one for ~180€. Does anybody have some other recommendations to make?

For 180 Euros, that very expensive for a pretty average monitor. Has awful default calibration, heavy RTC overshooting so you're going to see reverse ghosting.

If its the same monitor as the ones they were advertising, they would be the LG IPS7 series. They're absolutely unremarkable and they had that hilarious dishonest marking push.

I live in germany. Do you recommend any certain companies? Im having a hard time looking for a decent 24" monitor cause there are so many to look at. Also is ghosting a common issue for monitors in this price class? I have read about some asus mmonitors having ghosting issues as well. I have looked into the eizo fs2333 a bit and although it is an ips panel it apparently seems to work for gaming according to prad.de. what do you think of it?

Brand is generally irrelevant, what matters is the specific monitor. Sure you can generalise some things ("all Eizo monitors are good" is pretty much true for instance) but you're still looking at specific monitors and not the brand.

Ghosting is an issue with all LCDs so it depends on your tolerance for ghosting. The Asus VG23AH is a pretty good bet: v. good motion performance, can run at 72hz with some messing around with timings (Google this, not difficult to do), has a semi gloss panel. The only problem is some people can see cross hatching from the 3D filter, which can obviously be annoying. So the best idea is to take a look at it in person before buying it.

The Eizo FS2333 is a very solid monitor but very expensive so I'd be more willing to give the Asus VG23AH a try. Like the Asus, its semigloss but doesn't have any of the so-called cross hatching since it doesn't have an additional 3D filter.

There are 120hz monitors in the thread if you bothered to look.

thanks a lot for your answers
Well i generally know that i shouldnt be looking brand specific but i thought maybe i can stop looking for certain brands cause they have mostly negative reviews to save myself some work lol. I looked for the VG23AH in local shops and unfortunately couldnt find it.

So if possible could you give me a slight Experience on how big the difference between gloosy and semi-glossy is?
I have looked at glossy monitors and i have to admit that i dont like a strong reflection my screen. I have looked at a few videos and so far it doesnt seem to reflect that strongly which seems quite good.
Also thanks for clarifying the ghosting thing. I have been looking at a huge review of some guy about the vg23ah and so far i really like it since it seems to work pretty fine for gaming. Im just wondering right now about the semi glossy thing

Review on youtube

This is the one i have been looking at(and the second part of it obviously).

edit: nvm i just found out that some people had problems with horizontal lines being visible all the time. Not sure though if its just a problem with broken monitors.

edit2: Okay i read into this horizontal line thing from the asus monitor and it seems to be noticeable for quite a few people and it seems to vary for the models quite a bit. I dont think im going to risk spending money on it
Looking into some Asus TN panels now, since the Eizo FS2333 just looks a bit expensive and i have just seen that IPS panels might appear very bright looking at dark things on the screen in a dark room.

I play mainly league of legends, sc2, and dota2, so I want to try to get a monitor that is optimal for these and maybe some other competitive games along the way. I'm guessing I should be looking for a very low input lag.

I have slightly less than $200 to spend, so the Dell U2312HM is probably out of my list. It seems like the Asus VS229H-P seems like the way to go but I also got suggestions for the VS236H which is simiilar in price, how would they compare at the current price points? I don't really care about features such as speakers or usb.

People have also suggested that I should get the VH239H to use the most of my budget, but it's $40 more than the other two.

Also, its been mentioned that Dell will have sales soon, in how many days should I expect to be seeing these?

Are you sure you have all those model names right?

I know of a VH236H (a very popular cheap 23.6" 1080p TN CFL-backlit display with overall decent response, used in some gaming tournaments and leagues) and a VS239H-P (23.6" version of VS229H-P, so 23.6" 1080p eIPS), but not a VS236H and not a VH239H. Or maybe I'm just out of the loop.

Dell sales aren't a guarantee.

Again, model name? XL2410T or XL2420T?

The only way to get good calibration settings is to use a calibrator on your own monitor. You may be able to get something better than default by trying out somebody else's, however. Check around for profiles in reviews or otherwise on the web.

tftcentral has profiles for XL2410T and XL2420T:

I don't think the VS236H or VH239H actually exist...I mean Asus doesn't even have it on their website so I think its just people stumbling over Asus' stupidly confusing naming scheme and the fact they have so many damned monitors that are all basically the exact same as each other.

Dell sales appear fairly randomly but I think you might see one within 30 days. Alternatively if you know anyone in the military of in the business that uses Dell systems, you can probably nab an employee coupon code off them.

It was a good monitor but its a pretty old model however. Look at the OP, there are 120hz monitors that are theoretically better and easier to find.

Is there a reason you're looking at it over any of the other options like Samsung's S23 series?

2233rz:

+ conventional lighting. (I've read, LED eyes hurt)

TFT Central keeps using the Samsung 2233RZ as a reference because they haven't tested many 120hz monitors. I think the only other set of 120hz monitors they have tested are the Benq XL series. I'm not sure why this is the case but it is. I suspect Simon gets his monitors from a retailer, he's always plugging that pcbuy website or something.

LED can hurt eyes if you are sensitive to something called PWM flickering. It depends entirely on whether or not the manufacturer chooses to not use PWM as a method of controlling brightness or use extremely fast on/off periods to eliminate flickering. Its not a problem for most people, everything uses LED backlighting now so you can't avoid it.

If the price difference is that much, then the Samsung 2233rz is a perfectly viable option. Input lag is low enough (TFT Central's value is probably wrong), motion performance is perfect, contrast is perfectly fine too. I think Prad mentioned that it does interpolation and scaling quite poorly so you want to run everything at its native resolution.
