IME 3.0 double clicking (Windows 7)

So I got a new computer with Windows 7, and sometimes the mouse double clicks when i click once. I didn't have this problem on my old PC (Windows XP). I have tried messing with the double click speed in Microsoft Mouse, but it hasn't helped. It's very annoying in SC2 when i want to click a worker, and it selects all workers. Any ideas? Could it just be the mouses fault not Windows 7's?

Is it the same mouse? If not, it is highly likely it is you, as your hand is not adjusted to the shape and/or finds it harder to click, which could cause double clicks. It is also possible it is the mouse, but this is much less likely than it being your fault.

Also windows 7 is not the issue.

This is what happens to nearly all mice. It's the reason why you throw them away at some point due to getting utterly frustrated. However make sure it actually is the mouse by testing it with another PC or another mouse with your PC.

Yes it is the same mouse.

IME 3.0 = the name of the mouse (Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0). I'll see if I can test it with another mouse.

How fast is the double click? I had a mouse that I stopped using a couple months ago that would click once and then click repeatedly if I held it in the same spot. I managed to actually make that work, and I actually took advantage of it sometimes, but yes, it certainly got annoying. It sounds like my problem was different from yours though.

I had this problem once and it was the mouse, try it on the old computer if that's possible and see if it doubleclicks there?
If it does, it's the mouse probably.

I got the same problem with my ime 3.0. I "fixed" it (sometimes it still happens) by opening the mouse and putting a trimmed band-aid on the plastic bolt hitting the switch.

I've had two ms3.0:s and they both had the same issue yours got. Most likely the mouse1 switch is poor quality.

Okay, i googled a bit and found this: http://www.danieljackson.co.uk/fun/old/ (scroll to the bottom).
It says that it's only for Windows NT/2000/XP only, but it works on Windows 7 for me. I tried it out and no double clicks yet!
