Hi guys, I recently upgraded my computer but I think the ram timings are different to what I bought. Firstly, here's my system i5 2500k (not overclocked...... yet) ga-z68xp-ud4 g.skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM msi twin frozr gtx560 ti
The ram timing is meant to be 8-8-8-24 as stated on the g.skill official website (http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=356).
However, in CPU-Z it shows up as 11-11-11-28. I've attached a screenshot of it.

I could change the timings manually in the BIOS settings but isn't it meant to be 8-8-8-24 by default?
Thanks in advance.

Is it stock speed in bios? makes me think the CPU-Z is buggin out. Assuming you haven't looked in the bios already.
|
you have to change it yourself in the bios.
alot of ram will advertise certain speeds, but it wont be that way until you set it.
also 1600 mhz ram will often default to 1333 until you change it, and so on
this is all normal.

It's probably set to auto in the bios. As poster above have stated you can go into the bios and set the timings.
|
so even if it's advertised as "CL8" ram, i have to manually go into BIOS and set it to 8-8-8-24? lolol this is terrible! I'll go change it now and see if it's stable

Seems to boot up fine~ here is my new screenshot

By the way, it is running at 1600mhz right now right? (ddr ram runs at 2x 802.4mhz) Thanks for your quick responses!
