High DPI razer mouse - coursor shakes

I read the guides on mice on these forums, but they didn't have the solution I wanted.

Basically I have a razer spectre mouse, but this applies to any high dpi razer mouse.

When clicking in one place, the pointer shakes. The solution is to use a hard mouse mat. However, I do not like the hard mouse mat, I want to use my soft one because its warmer, firmer, and just has more control.

I used a hard mouse mat that has both a control side and a speed side, but the problem is that hand condensation gets on the hard mouse mat and when u go to your mini map, when the laser goes over the condensation, the mouse no longer responds. So using a hard mouse mat does not solve the problem, since everyone's hand sweats and produces moisture.

I was considering using a light glove with the hard mouse mat, but this is somewhat uncomfortable, and I can't "feel" my mouse under my hand.

So my question is:

Is there some solution to this that I can apply with firmware, software? Like, is it possible to make the laser not be so accurate by changing some computer settings in windows 7? Or are all razer mice just flawed in this way, and should I choose a different brand?

Thanks

This shouldn't be happening on every Razer mouse. I have a razer deathadder and a razer abyssus and when I click in the same place my cursor doesn't shake. You must have a faulty mouse.

no, because it does NOT shake on a hard mouse mat. only on a cloth one.

Your description seems to suggest a physical problem that as you click a button your mouse compresses the soft mouse pad underneath and causes the mouse to basically move against the surface, however minuscule, and shake the cursor?

Given the physical nature of the problem, I don't think there can be any way to completely mitigate the issue, however, I'd suggest turning down DPI. I have a Logitech G500 (also 5600DPI) on a (soft) Goliathus and doesn't seem to suffer from this, at ~2000 DPI at least. Are you playing on super high DPI, by any chance?

Just tested my DPI settings, I turned it down to 200dpi, and it still shakes

I have a Razer Imperator on this cloth mousepad: http://www.mionix.net/page.php?al=400
I keep it at 3000 dpi and I have had no jitters or any sort of precision problems, it behaves beautifully.

It had some driver/software problems at start ( kept disconnecting ) but now it works just fine.

Well my Deathadder has none of those problems.

This seems to be a good list of functional mice

Welcome to the world of phillips twin-eye sensors. That is inherent on every mouse which uses it. The only razer mouse you should ever buy is the deathadders, abyssus (with goliathus control or hard pad) and the discontinued salmosa.

Just tried it with my old DeathAdder (and my trusty G9X for good measure) on both a Razer Vespula hard mousepad and a soft Steel Series QCK+ mousepad and did not notice anything. The DeathAdder runs at 1800DPI and the G9X I tried at 1000 and 1500 (my default) and saw nothing, so it doesn't seem inherent to high DPI mice, perhaps just yours?

Maybe look into getting a hard mouse pad with a wrist rest if you are concerned about condensation (I never experienced that with my Vespula). It takes some adjusting but it can be quite comfy to use and keeps your wrist from making contact with the pad.

I've used Razer Abyssus for quite a while now i find its very reliable and durable. I use a steelseries softer mousepad and i have 0 issues, love my setup works great. If your willing to invest you can't go wrong with this one imho.

I have the same problem with the logitech g9x, jitters on a soft mousepad, works good with hard one ( which I don't like). Mouse is at 1800dpi too, its quite annoying lol

My Razer Imperator on 3600dpi and a soft 5€ mousepad + Show Spoiler +
Similar to this [image loading]
doesn't show those symptoms at all.

My guess is that your mousepad is horrible, however unlikely that is. If it works on a hard mousepad but not on your soft one, it's the only logical conclusion.
