Toshiba Satellite A665 Overheating

I recently bought a new laptop, the Toshiba Satellite A665 for around $1700 CND, and expected it to be able to play starcraft on high graphics with no lag in intense moment of the game. About a month after the purchase my screen froze and then blue screened for no apparent reason. I just restarted it and put the incident to the side, but it started to happen more frequently. So I took it back to the retail shop and they "repaired" it, it took a month for the retail shop to return it me and within 15minutes the screen freeze happened again, so I immediately mailed it Toshiba Repairs, after 2months then sent it back with almost everything except the Graphics Card newly installed. I have had it for about a month and it froze once, so I thought I was overheating it(which might be the case) so I turned the graphics to low, and it still is occurring, so I don't know what to do about it. Should I have an external fan cooling it down or is it something internal?

Specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q740 @ 1.73GHz
Installed RAM: 8.00GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System
(Thats all it says in system)
I know that it is running a graphics card capable of 3D Visuals, and only has a small fan installed internally, and the air coming out of the laptop is scorching hot, it almost burns when you feel it. If I knew how to get the information of the graphics card inside my laptop I would tell you guys, but Futureshop doesn't sell the computer any more and the System Information doesn't show it.

I don't know what to do to resolve this issue.

you should really invest in a Laptop Cooler/stand
http://bestlaptopcooler.org/zalman-zm-nc2000black-notebook-cooler-review/
something like that or shop around for what you like. If your going to be gaming on a laptop it's almost a must. If overheating is the problem you should also install some Temp Software such as http://www.hmonitor.net/

I had a similar problem with my old Toshiba laptop all the time when I first got it. I think their laptops are just poorly designed to manage the amount of heat they generate.

That being said, I got a laptop cooler pad this one and it has helped significantly, almost completely eliminating the problem.

I would recommend you do the same and see if it improves your situation.

Is there a solution which I dont have to spend any money on, would an external fan facing towards the laptop work?

Don't buy a laptop cooler, I doubt you'll need it. Just buy some 3$ rubber feet that will elevate your laptop an inch or so off the ground. From what I can see on google, your laptop is almost directly hugging the desk.

I have tried this as well, but found it to be far less effective than the cooling mat.

Another thing to mention: avoid placing the laptop on your lap, or on a blanket or pillow, or any soft surface that may obstruct the small vents on the bottom of the computer. I didn't realize those vents were there at first, but it seems they play a pretty important role, so make sure you're placing the computer on a hard surface when you use it.

Yeah, rubber feet are probably a good, cheap option that you should try to increase airflow.

I dunno about paying 1700$ for a toshiba though, I've only heard bad things of them but maybe those are just seperate incidents.
